Today I drove the 520d E60. Yes I am serious ^^ Google it my friend google it. Its defently a BMW engine. Mclaren and BMW worked together for a while. Now mercedes and mclaren working together

@ThorAxeTheThunder Listen kid, I don't care what your dad says or where he works. The SLR Mercedes DOES NOT HAVE A BMW ENGINE. Never, ever. It is the 5.4L supercharged engine from the e55, sl55, s55, cl55 and g55. It goes from 500hp to 620+ with tuning. Nothing to do with BMW. The engine is almost 10 years old and is the 3 valve design that MB has used for many years. Wikipedia will explain.

Great video, great race! SLR is such a beast. Many people underestimate it, but it's more than VERY capable. A stock SLR easily beats a tuned Z06 Corvette. And those tuned Z06's are not slow! I'd love to drive an SLR once in my life!

well not quite, weight plays a part in the initial acceleration but at speed it doesn't have much of an affect since your in motion and thrusting toward the horizon, take the veyron for example :)

you know whats great the slr is 495 thousand dollars and you can find that 2005 cl65 with 612 horsepower at 738 ft lbs of torque for around 50,000 dollars... the cl65 is so great :)

Without a doubt the SLR would win, but I don't think this was an accurate comeback. The Cl65 is no slouch. With the CL's jump it would have taken at least 130mph before any measurable notice.

SLR - 622bhp 1700kg

Its obvious on paper who's the winner.

But its true, a good remap software can put the CL65 into the 738bhp echelon and it will probably be a better compeition.

The SLR is faster, lighter and is considered an exotic sports car and it has better acceleration and its not limited to 250km/h, it goes to 335km/h.

The CL65 weights around 4880lbs, it has lees power, its not considered an exotic, just an sports coupe...and its limited to 250km/h, low speed around the sports cars today.
