Damn 20 years!?! And there hasn't been a cartoon to match it in all those years. Not even in all the new renditions of the X-MEN. This show had such a strong impact on me and my childhood. I'm about to be 27 and still watch these online remembering every line! Great story telling, character development and social commentary. LOVE THE X-MEN! go Storm!

The 90's X-Men is the best adaptation of the X-Men there will ever be IMO. Also, David Hemblen IS Magneto. I LOVE Ian Mckellen and thought he did a great job in the live action films, but everytime I read a X-Men comic with Magneto in it, I hear Hemblen's voice. He sounds like a man who determined beyond belief, but does not consider what he is doing is evil...He makes Magneto sound like a Charlatan and a Liberator at the same time...which is what Magneto represents. @driftingdrought Magneto can absorb all of storm's attacks, unless she somehow gets the jump on him, she has no chance. This is extremely hard because Magneto has a much higher reaction speed than storm(1450% vs. 100%).
This has been the case in many of the major storyarcs in the marvel universe. The only time she ever came close to harming magneto was with a cyclone when she almost killed him and he was not really fighting back.
In any serious fight, she gets creamed, very easily.

However, Magneto's power extends to the molecular level, not just with the ability to control metal, but to create electromagnetic forcefields at that level as well.

Storm's classified as having omega level potential and was described when she was 'rogueStorm' as having virtually infinite power. Hence, why I said her 'power potential' outweighs his. The 90's X-Men is the best adaptation of the X-Men there will ever be IMO. Also, David Hemblen IS Magneto. I LOVE Ian Mckellen and thought he did a great job in the live action films, but everytime I read a X-Men comic with Magneto in it, I hear Hemblen's voice. He sounds like a man who determined beyond belief, but does not consider what he is doing is evil...He makes Magneto sound like a Charlatan and a Liberator at the same time...which is what Magneto represents. Big props to David.

wow the magneto(ian mcellen) in the movies seems way weaker than this one right here.....is it me or the magneto in the movies couldnt create a magnetic shield to block cyclops laser beam......and not only that the magneto in the movies couldnt create random explosions with his magnitsum....he only had control over metal in the movies but seems like hes shooting something out of his hands right here in this episode

some but as far as storm goes she wields both planet weather and space
weather as both makes up storm full weather power as weather is not limited to a planetary body,plus storm also has Energy perception,Ecological empathy,

The tit for tat arguments that make Storm appear weaker or less capable than Magnus are not worthy of discussion because they prop the *possibility* of Magneto's powers without equal consideration to what Storm is capable of. @driftingdrought Storm neutralized the missiles, but she couldn't do anything to Magneto. She may have more raw power. But what good is a hurricane against someone who can trap you in a force field. Magneto could have killed all 3 of them in an instant, but he showed restraint.
And physics aside, Magneto is just a much more interesting character too. His motive is to ensure freedom for all mutants. No other mutant is as epic.

- Magneto is protected by an energy shield that Storm cannot bypass unless she somehow gets him by surprise, even then, his reaction time is quicker than hers.
- Magneto can manipulate energy to compensate for any weather abnormalities Storm can pull out(Freezing, hurricanes, lightning) and even turn it against her.
- Conversely, Storm has nothing to protect herself from Magneto's attacks.
These are fictional characters, but the CANON states, Storm would get destroyed.

@driftingdrought Magneto can absorb all of storm's attacks, unless she somehow gets the jump on him, she has no chance. This is extremely hard because Magneto has a much higher reaction speed than storm(1450% vs. 100%).
This has been the case in many of the major storyarcs in the marvel universe. The only time she ever came close to harming magneto was with a cyclone when she almost killed him and he was not really fighting back.
In any serious fight, she gets creamed, very easily.

@Archedgar She could "flash freeze" him, draw all the air out of his lungs (or into them), manipulate his ear pressure to practically paralyze him, etc. There is no way he can "absorb" what he cannot control through magnetism, dipshit. And I don't know what you're getting at with the tornado scenario or your claim that he was barely fighting - he was almost killed in that tornado because Storm used his magnetism against him. I could easily claim (and do) that Storm was barely fighting in (cont.)

Magneto was desperate in that battle and threw Colossus's big hulking metal ass into Storm as his LAST defense. Storm brought Magneto to his knees and she could easily do it again. - In "Fatal Attractions" Magneto shows his ability to freeze all of the X-men, including Storm and disable their powers with ease.
- In Uncanny #150, Storm and Magneto face off, at which point Storm is completely thrashed and needs rescuing by Kurt/Collosus
- It has been clearly established in countless issues that Storm's powers are easily absorbed my Magneto

He twists everything to suit Magneto in a Storm vs. Magneto battle, even though Storm has demonstrated that she has almost killed him in battle. And like you said, Storm's potential is on par with the Phoenix, as said by the creator of the X-Men. Magneto simply cannot defeat Storm. She's just too powerful, even for him.

@Archedgar I think that if Storm didn't hold back, she could defeat Magneto in a duel. She has as much, if not, possibly greater control over electromagnetism than Magneto. That aspect of her powers was explored more in the comics than in the series (yes I know, I'm a comics dork lol). Plus if she really wanted to she could cut off the air flow to his lungs and call it a day lol.

However, Magneto's power extends to the molecular level, not just with the ability to control metal, but to create electromagnetic forcefields at that level as well.
