  • awsome video man it really helped me out i put a whole new engine in my truck hoping it would fix my problem with the abs and brake and speed sensor i have a 1998 dodge ram 4x4 5.9L and i wish i would have known about this before i did all this work and spent all that money come to find out that plug was just unplugged dam

  • Great video! Very helpful. Sounds like my problem. Engine light and abs lights come on when I am driving and the speedometer quicks working every now and then. I noticed that your problem was the wiring on the sensor. Is the sensor itself attached to the rear differential? If so, how hard is it to remove and cost of a new sensor.

  • @reddoogan Yes the sensor is inserted in the top of the differential case. Not hard at all to replace. As for the cost phone your nearest dealer.

  • i have a dodge ram 1500 and mind just came on... abs brake light, but now my truck wont shift out of 1st gear! so will this fix that also

  • @grandme Sounds to me that that is another problem.

  • I noticed you did that on a 1998 dakota. would that be the same location for a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500? I have the same problem.

  • @jimmlyn Yes.

  • i have a 98 dakota and my check engine light was on for like 2 days now it isnt on but my abs and brake light is on all the time and my speedometer says i and going faster then what i actually going would that still be the speed sensor

  • @MrOzzyfan123 Diagnostic Trouble Code reader is a good way to start to find out if there are any other problems.

  • i have a 2002 dodge dakota the abs and the brake ligth came on and my truck turns of

  • @mlildreamerp How long does it run for once you turn the key?

  • mt ruck

  • hi it was the driveshaft the balance weight was broken, it looked like it cracked and fell off i replaced the driveshaft no vibrate now, cheers for the advice u really know ur stuff.

  • @2010petrolhead Glad to be of help.

  • i have a promblem on my toyota truck the steering wheel vibrates i had the wheels balanced but the vibrate is still there could it be a a bent driveshaft or steering rack thanks

  • @2010petrolhead Hi. It could be the either. Inspect both for obvious damage.

If the drive shaft has no dings or look bent, it might just need to be balanced.

Or the steering knuckle could be worn out. I have another vid on that here.

    Good luck.

  • @9x19 thank you for taken time to respond back

  • @ 9x19 thank u fo the video ! the little engine tester, can it tells wich one of of abs sensor is bad or u got to find out all of them ?

  • @combo9011 you'll need to inspect them all.

  • thank you.... nice sensible video

  • Excellent work, good to see a real repair rather then a trial and error part swap you see at most garages.

  • thanks for helpme.....

  • check your ujoint

  • can the mechanism inside the gearbox break off easily? or is the fault mainly with wires around sensor,? i have same problem i checked the back of dash, replaced sensor but still faulty maybee wiring is bad

  • Hi! I have a Honda civic ex 1992. The ABS light comes on in couple of minutes when i start the engine. Do you have any advice about it?

    Thanks!

  • i got a question about my 98 dakota, it has nothing to do with ABS or Speed Sensor... well i really dunno what the problem is, but most the time when i'm doing 60 or faster the whole truck seems to shake, know what it might be?

  • Sounds like you need your tires balanced.

  • I just have one question. My engine light comes on whenever I drive fast and usually it comes on when I am on the highway. Do you know what causes the engine light to come on at high speed? Could it be my o2 sensor? Btw is 1995 grand am se 3.1 v6.

    Great work on your video!

  • It could be the o2 sensor or it could be a number of other things.

Like low oil pressure. Engine over heating.

The best way to narrow it down is to get a DTC code reader

and do a diagnostic. Or take it in to a dealer and have them do it.

  • ty for answering my question. ill take it to shop asap.

  • Thanks for The

    Information Your work is amazing

  • NP.

    And thnx.

  • Great video!

I got the same ABS problem with a 2003 Saturn Vue.

Took it to the mechanic and he says i need a new speed sensor for the rear left wheel. He says the sensor is built in the wheel bearing so the entire wheel bearing needs to be changed??! Then he quotes me a $350.00 part.

I paid him for the diagnostics and did a search on the net and found the part for $85.00 .

How can I ID the sensor on a 2003 Saturn Vue?

    Thanks!

  • I believe that on this vehicle the ABS sensor comes attached with the bearing. Correct me if I'm wrong.

First thing to do is, if you have not bought the part already. Is take a look at the Wiring harness coming from the bearing hub assembly.

  • If one of the wiring harnesses is damaged I would have to believe that, that is the malfunctioning unit.Replace it then turn on your ignition and see if the warning lights have gone out.If not, then well it would be the other bearing hub assembly.I think, don't quote me on this.I believe the parts to be compatible for both left and right.

  • hey Thanks! I'll let you know how it turns out.

  • great video and explanation!!

  • Thnx.
