There are two reasons palin quit and they have nothing to do with ethics complaints.
1.Palin wants to be president. Ever since the election, she has not done anything but strut around at right wing events in the Lower 48. She has been known as the "do nothing" governor up here in Alaska.
2. THe job got too hard for her little pea brain. Falling oil prices, a looming budget deficit, a failed gasline project, and plummeting popularity in Alaska meant her job was not fun anymore.....so she quit.

And she also accepted per diem payments for being in Juneau, while she was at her home in Wasilla, which is fraud
So Palin had about 15 ethics complaints, and in at least three of them she settled or was censured. So she was fucking up. Even I was angry at some of the later complaints as a waste of state money. The reason there is no income tax in Alaska has nothing to do with Failin. It has to do with the billions and billions of oil royalties and pipeline fees Alaska collects from the oil companies and goes back to the early seventies.

1.Palin wants to be president. Ever since the election, she has not done anything but strut around at right wing events in the Lower 48. She has been known as the "do nothing" governor up here in Alaska.
2. THe job got too hard for her little pea brain. Falling oil prices, a looming budget deficit, a failed gasline project, and plummeting popularity in Alaska meant her job was not fun anymore.....so she quit.

Not all of the lawsuits were without merit. Google the Branchflower report the finding of the independent commission investigaing Troopergate, which describes the wrongdoing of Palin and her staff. Talis Colberg her DA had to resign over it. And she settled on the lawsuit about travel, she was using state money to fly her kids around, which is illegal, She had to pay the money back. And she also accepted per diem payments for being in Juneau, while she was at her home in Wasilla, which is fraud

And funny you mention the spending. Some economists are saying that his stimulus plan wasn't big enough! And considering his actions overseas and his other achievements, I'd say it's awfully blind, but not surprising, that you'd doubt his intelligence.

Y'know I can't guarantee that what Obama proposes will actually work. I do know, however, that out of all the choices he was the safest, most sound one. McCain lost points for a humber of reasons, mainly due to Palin. And what Obama's intelligence convinces me of is that he'll consider other views that might go against his, but that might actually be the best.
And I'm not worried about the approval ratings. Most of those polls had Hillary as the winner in the Dem primaries last year.

Actaully McCain gained some of the woman supporters that were for Hillaryover to his side because of Palin and many Republicans approved of Palin, even some Democrats. Palin was chosen simply because she was a woman in an attempt to get the Hillary voters. It failed. More women voted for Obama. Women aren't stupid. A vagina isn't the only requirement they look for. Sad that McCain and Co and didn't get that. As far as the "words" you speak of, all we had before we voted were the words of each candidate. A city council person stated that the spending increase was due to the city's growth. The federal earmarks were necessary for a youth shelter, transportation, and sewer repairs. She still had a high approval rating because the citizens approved of hat sge was doing becauuse they knew it was in the gbest interest of the community.

Even though McCain devolved into a bitter, disgruntled, disillusioned, cantakerous old man during the final weeks of the campaign, he is and was a far greater politician, person and thinker than Palin ever could be. Palin surely appealed to the ever-shrinking radical nuts of her party. Towards the end they wanted blood and her tone encouraged that thirst. But the slaughter was an electoral one. Obama won by a landslide. though there are that many people in the U.S., every citizen doesn't vote.

Mayor of Wasilla - Palin's tax cuts and infrastructural improvements helped the local economy. She cut property taxes by 75%.
Governor - earned the nickname "the most popular governor in America. Went to Kuwait to support national guard and visited injured soldiers in Germany. has not taken travel reimbursements. State income doubled in 2008. I could go on and on but I think you catch the drift.
