I like this ending, but I think it would be even better if he did knelt down and tell her he loved her. Because, you know, he was so shy the entire movie, and although it was obvius he did, he never got to say "I love you, Ana Scott". Anyway, the movie is just amazing, and Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts are simply magnific. For any of you who do not see this movie, I recommend it!!

The actor who plays the PR Chief at 0:17 (John Shrapel) and the actor who plays Max at 2:28 (Tim McInnery) both starred in 101 Dalmatians together. John Shrapel played Cruella's third henchman Skinner and Tim McInnery played Cruella's butler Alonzo! Two great british actors starring together in two of my favorite films!

This is a very strange film. The mixture of accents, for example; the girl who is supposed to be Grant's sister--how could those two come out of the same womb?; Roberts clearly pushing to get laid; the implications ("floppy"--oh why big feet you have, Mr. Thacker) that Grant has well-endowed; the leering smiles of the two protagonists at the end. The film, of course, has no artistic merit but I am sure made the stars millions, reason enough for making it.

How or why would William hava assembled his friends to decide what to do strikes me as completely unreal. If he called Bella or asked Spike, that would have been more realistic and interesting. Grant must have for many people (otherwise why would he have had a career) but not for me. In his films, I find it is the character actors around him who buoy up the film and make it work not him. In this case, his little group of friends--the fruitatarian. If this film survives its flaws, it does so leaving a slightly sick feeling at the bottom of the stomach. Why is that?
