In Australia you cant drive turbo powered cars (diesel turbo is an exeption) until you're on your open license which requires you to hold a provisional license for 3 years without disqualification. I just turned 21 the other week and have been on my opens for a few months so im looking at my first turbocharged car. I ruled out getting an R34 Skyline as i would have cost too much to run on my budget, so i sticking with a 4 cyclinder, hence silvia. :)

Yea im in california. I wanted a r34 as my first car LOL! But it was way out of budget and to much hassle just to import one and get it registered and stuff. Im really glad i was able to get a car though, especially a silvia.

Its real fun to drive around and hopefully i can take it to the track this weekend!

@idae209 You u have to convert them to left hard drive. In Aust, its righ-hand (same as japs) so its quite cheap to import a car here assuming you dont have to have too much work done to meet Aust Standards. I know the silvia is a drift car but whats it handle like? Does it have a very 'together' feel when taking a corners a little fast or does it tend to want to kick out at the back? Reason is i love the silvia but im not interested in drifting or racing, i just want a nice looking car. ;)

i have upgraded traction control so idk about stalk handling but my handles really good. corners arent a problem at all, except depending on how i take a corner the tires screech and it attracts attention

I can't undertand why is the s15 and r34 illegal in the US due to emmisions and safety, when they themselves make for example the corvette ZR1 that has far worse emmisions than the other 2, and is made out plastic that falls apart if u try taking some consecutive hard corners.... I think they just don't want any imports to ruin their own market...

@SuperrJoel s15's are illegal. Nothing on the car is DOT certified/NHTSA etc. The metal does not meet US crash safety requirements. Only R33's passed inspection except side impact and r32 and r34's were never tested. But then again, what makes a car out of metal any worse than a car of today's plastic and fiberglass? Just cage it all and you're fine. Cages should be legal. Modding/aftermarket parts on a car = illegal, it's just not too enforced.

@ath4n4tos There is a way you can have them, in the US you will be able to import those car when they reach the ripe age of 25 bloody years old, its a loop hole that any car older then 25 years can be imported, its the exact same in Canada except it only need to be 15 years old, and to add, in 2014 you will be able to import r34 and s15's so buy one in Canada and insure it there but drive it in the US lol

I believe it is the VERTEX body kit, but for the front wide fender I think it is the BN Sports front fenders, although i may be wrong.
