ive had t2i for about a year used quite often killed the batterey so many times .still is good condition and no line on sensor my nice 1080 HD and 18mp looks nicee.

my T2i , 550D after 1 1/2 year of a rough use is till work perfectly.

you should claim its warranty

the only one i regret is it does not hav any audio metering or a headphone plug, so it sucks in recording audio

unfortunate, but this is a warning to all dslr users. You obviously did something. And if it you don't remember anything happening, it was probably unrecognizable. Small things like removing your lens can, in some rare times, result in what you have here. This is a fault from your mirror, however. I suggest taking it in and seeing if it can be fixed.

Some of 550D/T2i Canon cameras are equipped with defected sensors.

Search @google for this problem - many users reported that....

By the way - Canon 550D is great for me!

My trusty old Nikon D50 has aquired the same problem after 5 years of use. It's mostly visible at ISO 800 and 1600.

Gosh. Very sorry for you. I know its such a horrible feeling to buy something like this brand new and then find it to be broken. Take it back to the shop and demand a replacement. 550d is an awesome camera. Hope u get a good one.

@sheran92 It's a great camera for amateur consumer. But as You can see - mine is damaged out-pf-the-box (I bought it in the shop, now I`m waiting for replacement).I wanted C 550D because it has a brilliant video recording function in 1080p mode.

By the way, I`m using Canon 5D for over 5 years - and in my opinion - that's the best full-frame camera in the world :-) (of course if You have a few L-grade lenses.)

@szefu18 i have a 550D too, and it's only a problem with this DSLR, not with all the 550D. I've made 9000 pictures from march with this dslr ...
