  • this aint reggae, its ska!

  • @09bradonp shut the fuck up

  • 420 thousand likes isnt a coincidence..

  • Now this is some fuckin' groovy stuff.

    Nothing beats some good first-wave.

  • its funny how ppl dnt kno anything about marijuana, stop talking about it and just listen to the music.

  • if we legalize marijuana, we couldn't ONLY legalize marijuana. Do you understand how much of a double standard that would make you? it's like in high school, there were these kids who bashed everyone who smoked (cigarettes of pot, either one) and on the weekends they'd go out and drink enough to poison a medium sized dog. How can you say that one drug is less bad than others? i mean i get that heroin is a LOT different than pot but we'd also have to legalize shrooms, peyote and X probably

  • @Kardz9 youre wrong.

  • @Kardz9 yeah kardz i dont know where you would get that idea. drugs are very variable.

  • een van de beste reggea nummer ooit! Terrrrrrring goed!

  • cool

  • best bassline ever

  • This is England .

  • Good video, but it's '54 46 Was My Number' and this isn't Reggae, it's Ska, which is often mistaken with Reggae because of it's Jamaican roots. But yeah good one.

  • @tylerrossi46 this era is often also referred to as "roots reggae" while other might refer to it as the first wave of ska... whatever, it's good music.

  • @tylerrossi46 Actually there are two versions. The first version was released titled as 'That's My Number' and then the song was released again a year later titled 'Was My Number.'

  • @aidenmccloskey I recall seeing it come up both ways on a search and was wondering why. now i know thanks for the info Tylerrossi46 it is always good to learn something.

  • DECRIMINALIZE!!!!! the reason people post that shit is cause their stoned listening to good music. LEGALIZE BEBEY!

  • didn't look like pot bashing to me, but what do i know? im simply a nameless faceless entity on the internet. (if you want to be taken seriously, you shouldn't use vibes to describe how you feel about a song, you just sound like a hippie)

  • We like it!!

  • this 5446 was my number, not 5446 that's my number, there are two versions

  • Love this song and the Sublime's cover too

  • I may be only 18 but this song brings me so many memories, hail tthe internet from introducing me to this magnificent song so many years ago

  • oi ! wat a tune so good to chill too

  • Oi.

  • Such vitality in this song. I can see why it is so popular. It has a lot of soul.

  • Repo Men brought me here :)

  • This Is England! this is such a feelgood song i just love it.

  • I heard 9.8 ounces makes a difference, i looked and expected to see a fat sack of weed, but sadly it was for the nikes or what ever shoe, damn ads.... legalization.

  • Why do the English try to appropriate Jamaican music as their own?

  • why do people feel the need to say legalize marijuana...... just cause your listening to reggae doesnt mean you gotta go all pro pot on everyone.... just smoke it and fit into society......

  • @farmersloven well i cant speak for anyone else but the reason i would like to see it legalized is so i do not have to fear being arrested for my responsible use of it. i think its absolutely ridiculous that we are bombarded with alcohol ads on tv all day but if someone wants to smoke a joint, they are a crimminal

  • @jmarshmellowman @jmarshmellowman i see your point, but the thing is... society wont change their views on marijuana easily especially when its been demonized in the media for so long and people ranting about yeah boi!! im sparking up a joint right now... because of a reggae song wont really help with decriminalisation of marijuana... more... it just makes pot smokers look like the stereotypical stoner...

  • @farmersloven True story bro !

  • @farmersloven just cause you dont smoke it doesnt mean you need to bash it. let it be and enjoy the vibes man.

  • @farmersloven if they wanne say that, let them say itm everyone has another feeling about it

  • @farmersloven Why do people feel the need to say 'legalise marijuana?' You do know what this song is about, don't you? Or maybe not. The song is about Toots' time in prison for an arrest for possession of marijuana. That is why people are saying 'legalise marijuana' - not because Reggae is associated with marijuana. Do your research.

  • @aidenmccloskey It's still annoying to hear people associating the 2 all of the time. Reggae doesn't need a crutch to be cool, it's badass on it's own.

  • @ItsSteveTre I see where you're coming from - however on this case, considering the meaning of the song, it's only right that people are allowed to discuss the subject and the issue the song is dealing with.

  • @farmersloven ^ this

  • @farmersloven Um, this song is about being arrested (perhaps falsely) on marijuana charges. So it makes COMPLETE sense to say "legalise cannabis!" on this video.

  • @farmersloven

    Well said!

  • yeaa booooy

  • this reminds me of weed. i like that very much :)

  • Adabadeebeedeebeedeebeedeebeedeeadidani, diediediediedieadadidadada deya, deya, deya, deya, deya, deya, deya, deya, deya, deya, deya, deya, deya, deya

  • thumbs up if too many people are comment whores lately.

  • heres the link to the first one - /watch?v=MHrECHho14U

  • total best you are correct, there are two version of the song, one with 54-46 'THATS' my number and then a later version of 'WAS' my number, which is the version everybody knows

  • This isnot 54-46 that's my number! That was the original, this is a later song by toots called 54-46 WAS my number. Ya i kno kinda confusing...

  • @TotalBeast93 This is the original. Released in 1968 and again in 1969.

  • black square does a good version of this

  • This song IS NOT '54-46 That's my number.' There were two versions of this song, both about toots hibberts time in prison. The first was released in '68 and was called '54-46 THAT'S my number' and the follow up version released a year later called '54-46 WAS my number.' This is the second one - the song in the video is not the song in the title!

  • @Omikron611 Wow I was so stoned when I watched that movie I didn't even notice that is was in there.

  • @Omikron611 whats repo man

  • @cbrown3oo a 1984 film commercialising Punk rock with actor emilio estevez brother of crackhead charlie sheen, Its about a car who has some kind of alien in a trunk and emilio is supposed to repossess it. It has the commercial hit which has had sustantial mtv play ,Instutionalized or known as to many people ... the pepsi song

  • @BarrioPunkRock he's not a crackhead he's a cokehead, big difference asshole.

  • @khallacy its still drugs

  • @khallacy

No there's not. Crack is bassically just a purer form of Cocaine.

Cocke heads often give those that smoke the odd crack pipe a bit of a hard time, when really the cokeheads the mug for doin cut drugs.

  • @HardcoreClassics crack is for crackheads coke is for mugs

  • @HardcoreClassics crack is purer?! Crack is the most addictive form of cocaine... people use baking soda to prepare crack.... mimicking the appearance of cocaine, added to increase bulk. Cocaine is purer..... der. what fuck are you talking about?!

  • @ReverenG You are right and wrong. You are correct in that crack is the most addictive form of cocaine. And you are correct that crack can be adulterated to bulk it up. But some of what you say is incorrect. For instance baking soda is part of the solution that when cooked with cocaine powder makes freebase. The baking powder helps to remove the impurities in the coke so that all that you have left is nearly pure cocaine. In essence, crack is freebase cocaine.

  • @ReverenG

Suggest you go away a read up.

You use baking soda to wash it up, turning cocaine into into crack to remove the impurities and make it smokable. Not to bulk it up. But that's not how all crack is made. Infact washing up can be a very crude method for judging the purity of your cocaine. Your lucky if after washing up coke in the UK you'll have anything left to smoke as you'd be lucky to get coke above 70% purity here. Crack is a purer form of cocaine.

  • what a fucking song!

  • thumbs up if this is england brought you here!

  • Music like Freestylers, Roots Manuva and Sublime brought me here, and further. Roots run deep...

  • I love Sublime, but why are more than half of their songs covers??? haha. this is awesome

  • @DanteDevil2727 You should look into The Jazz and Swing era of the 40s and 50s.

Loads of those artists covered eachother's songs, as the were all friends, unlike the celebrities today. Seriously though, it was completely accepted that Frank Sinatra covered songs. Look it up :)

  • go on your facebook onto profile picks and then flick through to this song :D

  • @HypoDroid Your tripping buddy, sublime? really.......
