I live in Seattle, the coffee capital of the Northwest, and believe me no where will you find fake iced coffee at any coffee shop here...you will find a coffee stand, shop, on every corner in Seattle and nearby town..but no fake iced coffee. :)

The coffee shop I work at, we have a separate Iced Coffee that is, of course, brewed hot, but we keep it in a different container to let it cool before we pour it over ice, and we also make it stronger so it isn't diluted very easily.

If there happens to be leftover coffee(rare occasion), and i remember, Its great to make ice cubes with it. Its amazinglyfaboo to do with espresso, instead of weakening the drink, its enhanced. 8 on Sunday-Blog tv, ooh ooh, dilemma.. Thats when "AskCarrieLee" is on there also, argh, I will try to room-hop. I work at Starbucks and the coffee does have to be brewed double strength, poured over ice (where the ice mostly melts), then refrigerated to be poured for iced coffee drinks. However, some people want iced decaf coffee, which we don't make cause the demand's so low. But they say, "Oh, just pour it over ice!" So we get their permission. So, I don't know which Starbucks you go to, Nalts, but if it seems like they're gonna pull that stunt on you-- ask for an iced Americano! :)

I can't stand it when I get ice cubes in my ice coffee at all. It's like pouring water into it. You wouldn't do that. It's going to melt regardless of how cold it is. Entirely different matter if it's ice cream. Then it's just incredibly delicious.
