Hi Mike, Thanks for your awesome video tutorials. Your tutorials are so inspiring. I'm a junior programmer and I love designing website. Though I'm still in school and should be out this Spring, I'm thinking about establishing my web design company. I don't know anything about photoshop or firework and not a UI designer but do know CSS, HTML, etc. I do really want to learn UI design or other things that you talk about. does this require some basic knowledge ?

@jgharty Not really, you just have to start at some point, pick up Fireworks and try to create a few graphics. The more you practice, you'll get better.

@SteveDow1982 Not sure since you are Photoshop and I work 100% in Adobe Fireworks. If you want to learn Fireworks, definitely. There are elements of me showing my process, how to come up with certain design elements, advice on growing as a visual UI designer but like all my tutorials, their done using Adobe Fireworks.

I'm just wrapping up my Associates in Web Graphic Design and I just signed up for Michael's course. It's definitely best $90 bucks I've spent. In the past I've bought several coding and web design books and this course beats them all. After going through section 3, the coding part, I felt empowered. I loved learning about using Fireworks for wireframes, mock-ups and then taking the compete wireframe and coding it into an HTML editor. In the end, this course helped me immensely. Thanks Mike!

Another great idea. What I wondered specificallymis whether you would be planning to do anything on php/MySql? I have had a few enquiries in the past but had to turn down the work as I know very little about it, and just haven't got around to doing it. Last week I had one charity contact me asking to have a database to re-index their catalogue and they don't have any internal IT department. I'm in limbo at the moment as I was looking around to pass it on to people I knew but no one interested.

@AndyDOHD1 Thanks, but I tend to stay away from anything to technical dealing with databases and stuff. The most technical I get with php/mySql is when dealing with wordpress. But my work doesn't get too technical. I like to stick with 80% visual design and UI design, 20% coding (html/css).

The adobe fireworks way will be unique because majority, probably web tutorials use photoshop and even though everyone agrees FW could be a better tool but most are too comfortable with PS...I'm currently subscribed to envato,will check yours out, goodluck..even tho I'm no beginner, I like to see how others work.
