  • If my engine ever goes in my Falcon Ranchero, im putting one of those in it!

  • that truck is just beautiful

  • man wish i had that.!

  • I like that something you don't see every day

  • By the way. I live in Texas..

  • Hey I bought this 1964 ford ranchero. Really sweet. Im in the process of redoing the interior. Sound proofed all panels. Looking into putting turbo on it. Trans shifts almost immed. In 3rd gear at about 15 mph. Going to repaint and raise back end. Fun project. Would like to put standard trans in it.

  • Is the bed floor two peices and is it supposed to be like that because i have the 1965 and its like that and i dont know thats all about. ive had sombody tell me it has a trunk under their but i have not the slightest idea how to open it, just wanna know how original mine actually is thats all. Nice car by the way id like a deisel more than the 6 cyl 170 thats in mine (gas)

  • Sounds very similar to a Cummins 12 valve, especially when he opens the hood. Sounds like a healthy diesel.

  • this is not an perkins at 6 -354.

  • joe11blue: sd22 is a four cylinder. sd33 is a six....

  • id swap a 5.9 cummins into mine if i could find somebody who has a cheap motor for sale, and knows alot about custom shit. haha. but badass! ranchero for life.

  • Unless the drivetrain was modified, I can't imagine such a vehicle with a diesel engine.

  • @Seattlecarnut WOW Youve been around on my channel a LONG time...;-p Thank You... your comment 11 months my video 2 yrs ago and i was just looking through gearing up for my giveaway and looking at older vids. I cant believe I didnt say a word n this video..lol guess it shows just how shy around the camera i am.... I definatly changed the way i take them and have trouble keeping them under 20 mins nowdays lol.. Neat to see you on here on a older vid..;-p Cheers

  • @CerealMarshmallows This is definitely the shortest video I've seen you do. Most of what I've seen are around 15 mins. or longer. Awesome videos! Keep up the good work. :)

  • @Seattlecarnut

    why ?

  • @Seattlecarnut, The original drive train would handle it fine, they had an 8 inch rear end in those, basically a baby 9 inch.

  • @NathansBackwoods Sweet! It's too bad the engine wasn't offered at the time as an option.

  • That's not a perkins. It's a Chrysler/Nissan SD33. Same engine used in early IH Scouts.

  • @larrynsr The SD-33 is a four cylinder. That's clearly a six.

  • was it easy to find a torque convertor with a low enough stall speed?

    what about changing shift points?

did u change diff gearing to compensate for the low max rpm diesel?

    Will run forever that engine.

  • Well at least it's not a fucking small block chevy!

  • So this is an automatic? I thought all of them were standard. Interesting.

  • Needs turbocharged.

  • Too cool.

  • Oh and, what trans did you use? C6?

  • A ranchero with a diesel, Id never thought of it.

    That is just awesome.

Great choice for a diesel, those 354s will go forever

  • This ranchero is awsome. It should be in diesel power.
