  • Cool! I was backtracking to watch the preview of the film. Interesting and yes odd, but there is a certain charm , to reliving the lives of those dead. I also believe that the act, in an of itself, finds some favor from up above! Hope all went good at the festival.

  • Thanks - Yes, all went well. I was holding my breath the full 24 minutes, but the rest of the room seemed to enjoy it. Now - On to bigger and better projects!

  • Congrats!!! I have yet to watch it...but this sounds amazing!

  • Thanks - You've got the DVD, right? Watch it on Wednesday night along with us!

  • Congrats, Ken! Different but entertaining nonetheless. I'm sure your doc will knock em dead.

  • LOL - Yep, we'll knock 'em dead with a film full of stiffs. Thanks!

  • Hey, just caught up with this vlog - congrats! I doubt if I can make it down to Anaheim for the screening, but wish you all the best!

  • Thanks - I'd been meaning to write you to ask if you were going to be at the festival. Maybe next time...

  • An interesting vlog. Congrats on the filmfest news. I don't vlog but luckily there are thousands of people like you who do vlog and make it interesting.

  • Thank you!

  • Those last few seconds were hilarious!

  • I like to make sure people are paying attention all the way through ;^)

  • look forward to seeing your film. glad u're doing well. i see youre still hitting the bottle. i have never seen anyone drinking manishevitz cream sherry out of a snifter.

  • The snifter allows it to oxidize into a wonderful, rusty, slush that stays with you days after it's consumed. And thanks!

  • Congratulations on the film!!! Sounds like an interesting topic!!!

  • Very interesting topic. It's something everybody should be well educated in. Thanks!

  • Very cool! If I were driving through LA then to visit my mom in AZ, I would definitely attend. I did once pop in to the Cathedral in downtown LA and visit the square block of catacombs directly beneath it. It was a trip. I think Gregory Peck is there.

  • That does sound like a trip! I'll have to check that out - Thanks!

  • Yaay, I wish many people will appear there to see your movie. Congrats - making of that long (amateur) movie isn't easy.

Attending to film festivals must be pretty hard in that big country. Have you thought to send it to European festivals too...? ;)

  • I haven't submitted to any European festivals yet - but depending on things go on the 26th, maybe I will - Thanks!

  • thats great man.. I will tell my father and mother inlaw to go check it out and maybe take pics for me of ya lol.. Since they live in Cali and Im in WV.. ( MAN THIS STATE SUCKS!!).. anyways great video .. don't be a stranger now man..

  • Thanks - I'll keep an eye out for your old man ;^)

  • Hey Ken, Congratulations and I wish I could be there to party with the film crowd! G

  • Hey G! Great to hear from you - and thanks!

  • Good luck in the festival. Congrats on getting in!

  • Thanks!

  • First off, the liquor is beautiful. Lovely color.

I am excited. This is good news. I just watched the preview clip and it looks like an enjoyable film. I wish I could come out to Anaheim.

I believe Times Square is going to be renamed Downtown Disney.

  • I thought Mayor Rudy renamed it Disney Square a decade ago? ;^)

  • Congratulations on the film festival. Could you show us some clips from the film?

  • Yes! Thanks - I realize I forgot to make this a reply to when I posted some clips from it a looong while back. I'll do that right now!

  • Excellent!!! Congrats my friend...

I hope the screening is a success and that you have a blast at the festival. =)

    Cheers... J.

  • Thank you!

  • Holy cow! That's great! Congratulations!!!

  • Thanks - Appreciated.

  • Congrats on your film!

  • Thank you!

  • Fantastic news!

  • Thanks!

  • congrats.

  • Thank you!

  • You're one of my fave vloggers, brother! Big up, you and Steve.

  • Thanks much!

  • That's AWESOME Ken!!!

  • Thank you!

  • good stuff ken! i'm glad for you and your brother. thanks for not editing out the "5 minutes ago".

  • Thanks - And I'm always willing to embarrass myself for my YT friends ;^)

  • Congrats !!

    have a great time !

    **Kisses**

  • Thank you!

  • That's awesome! Congrats! I would love to be there, but I live on the other side of the country! If by any chance there is a way to buy the DVD, let me know. I'd love to see it!

  • Thanks - and, yep, you can get the DVD - See gravehuntingwithsteve (dot-com) for details or just search Amazon for Gravehunting With Steve: A Journey Beneath Los Angeles.

  • WOOT! how exciting for you and your bro! The film's subject matter is right up my alley- or should I say cemetery!

  • It's a bright, happy film about dead people - Thanks!

  • hehehee I like your adamant disclaimer 8‹D

  • One must disclaim.

  • 8‹D

  • How fun for your brother - and YOU!

    Hope the folks love it!

  • Thanks - We intend to have fun ... whether anybody else loves it or not ;^)

  • Congrats! I always enjoy your vids.

  • Thanks!

  • FANTASTIC!!! Great job, I hope it wins great things!!

  • Thank you!

  • congratulations on your film -- sounds cool :)

  • Thanks!

  • Congratulations, and I wish you a lot of fun at the festival. Sorry that I won't come to stalk you, but California isn't exactly around the corner.

  • That's fine - I'm sure there'll be plenty of other stalkers there ;^)

I'll hopefully post a couple of vlogs from the festival about the whole experience.

  • What?! This idiot?! lol... Can't wait to see it!

Congratulations, and glad you didn't choke to death during the outtakes; that would have been ironic.

  • It would have been ironic, yes. But as long as it all got on video, well worth it. Thanks!

  • I'll have whatever it is you're drinking.

Good to see you back again Ken & that's great news about your film. I've always enjoyed those grave hunting videos here on YT.

    Loved the ending too :)

  • Thanks - I keep hoping to have time to post more videos here (and I'm building up a backlog of travel vid+photos), but it's been crazy here the last couple of months. And I'll save you a bit of the bottle for when you come out west next year ;^)

  • Congratulations, Ken -- I always knew you more than just a pretty hairy face ;)

  • oops ... attach a 're to you -- I think in pidgen english until I've had my second cup of coffee -- lol.

  • Yep, my face is pretty hairy alright! Thanks!

  • That's great Ken. Very best of luck with this :)

  • Thanks!

  • Wow! Good for you. Having a film in a film festival has always been a dream of mine but I've never pursued that dream.

  • Way back in my teens I entered a couple of student super-8 film contests, but this is my first "real festival" and the first of any sort for close to 30 years. It is pretty much a fantasy come true. Thanks!

  • Good shit indeed. Congrats Ken!

  • Thank you, sir!

  • I was wondering what you were up to. Congratulations!! I've heard many times that such films draw the interest of various channels looking for potential in a series. It's original and fascinating. You should check into a latenight radio show called Coasttocoastam. An interview on that show could create a lot of visibility and interest in both the DVD and book.

  • Cool - We'll look into Coasttocoastam - My brother's a ham, he loves doing that kind of thing. Thanks!

  • you should sell it on itunes

wish i could go to downtown disney.

to bad its not tokyo disney land

  • iTunes... now that's something to check out... thanks! It is on Amazon, but not for download, just DVD shipment.

  • Hey, that musta been cheap American whisky to make you choke up, huh? lol

  • LOL - You caught me: Gentleman Jack. I should have stuck with my Laphroig.

  • That's great! It's quite a thrill to see your work on the BIG SCREEN. I had it happen a couple of times. I remember the video you made with your brother and really wanted to see more. Amazing!

  • Thanks - Is two weeks enough warning for you to get to Southern California?

  • Congrats :D

  • Thank you!

  • that is FANTASTIC news! congrats!

  • Thanks!

  • Good Ghouls are hard to find these days... he he he

  • (groan) I guess you have to be in the right spirit to enjoy a bad pun like that.

  • LOL

    hey what are friends for?

  • Wonderful news, Ken! I watched the preview of the film and it looks great.

Warning - not-so-subtle hint ahead: Did I hear correctly that there is a future challenge/contest in the works on your channel to win a free copy of your film's DVD? I swore I heard that somewhere...I'd enter for a chance to win that DVD! :)

  • LMAO - I don't know how you heard that rumor, but that was an idea I had... if I had gotten around to making this vlog a couple of weeks earlier (with enough time to judge the entries before the film fest). Maybe I'll still do the contest after the film festival as a follow-up.

  • Wow! Congrats!

  • Thanks!

  • Congratulations, Ken! Sounds like celebrities are dying to get in that movie! (ouch!):)

  • Since we've finished it and have been sending it around the celebs are dropping like flies. I guess they all want to be in the sequel!

  • Did you say, "to all my Absinthe friends? I've been wanting to get my hands on a bottle~!

  • LOL - I was trying to say "absent friends" but I suppose Absinthe friends works well too! I did pick up a small bottle of Absinthe a couple of months back, but I haven't tried it yet (it's a whole process, not just drinking it straight - too much trouble for a lazy SOB like me).

  • Wow~! I'm so proud of you~! Didn't you post something about your famous grave expert brother once? Way to go~! You give me inspiration to get my ass in gear for my short film. Can't wait to see your film~!

  • Thanks - Yep, when we first shot the footage (a loooong time ago) I posted about three minutes of it here as a preview. At the festival it will be the full 24 minute final edit.

  • Ken this is so awesome! I want a copy! I will check out the link! Good luck and congrats!

  • Thanks - You sure and Gary can't drive down for the night? ;^)

  • Congratulations! That is very exciting!

  • Thanks!

  • Ken that is great news, I'm gonna try & make it - love those things - been to a few here at Newport Beach Film Fest - good stuff...

BTW - evil laugh at end with your "good stuff" so what is your poison? Looked like Grand Marnier (my fav) or some other delish liqueur?

  • Thanks - hope to see you there! The poison was Gentleman Jack.

  • Ah, Jacks smooth talking brother!

Yep, marked it on the calendar - can't wait. I love grave yards, so I know it'll be interesting. (Except to be buried in one - just the thought of stuck in one place, gives me chills) My ashes are going skinny dipping in the deep blue sea. lol

  • Thanks again for coming last night - It meant a lot to have 'Tuber friends in the audience.

  • Scott & I had a good time, wish we could have spent a little more time, but I know how crazy those things can be...it's been a long week for you, I'm sure.

    Job well done. ;)

  • Hey, glad 2 hear u have a life. :)

  • I was surprised to find I had a life too!

  • coolio

  • Thanks!

  • Wow, congratulations! But 9 pm on a work night?? Damn! I'd totally be there, but we get up just after 4am so that's just not happening. :( I'll be drinking a toast to you about that time, will that do? Single malt glenmorangie - worthy of such a celebration. Hmmm, do any of these links lead to a place I can get the dvd? So we can watch at sort of matinee hour? Congratulations! That's exciting news indeed. Thinking about following in your brothers tracks - could be some good LA things to do.

  • Thanks - And for mentioning glenmorangie I'll totally let you off the hook. And, yep, gravehuntingwithsteve (dot-com) will take you to a place where you can find the link to the DVD on Amazon (Thank you!).

  • Nice one!

    Cheers and congrats! :)

  • Thanks!

  • Congratulations, Ken, that is exciting news! I'm off to the liquor cabinet like a good friend...

  • I knew I could count on you to not make me drink alone.

  • I'm not laughing, I'm cheering (quietly, because Abner is sleeping behind me).

That's freakin' awesome that you guys put that together.

    CONGRATS!

    I wanna see this.

    :-D

Battim probably won't let you live that tag scene down any time soon. LOL

  • Thanks - Hope you can make it (and bring Abner, too!)

  • Woot! Congrats on the film Ken! Loved the "5 minutes earlier" take. It made me curious about what "5 minutes later" might have looked like, LOL.

  • Five minutes later was just trying to plug the camera into the laptop and transferring the file.
