  • ours my 8th grade year was hooked up to a wireless mike and a long ranger speaker... the colorguard were being themselves and he screamed "I WILL NOT BE IGNORED!" so loud people legit heard it three blocks away... *facepalm* everyone started trembling.

  • If you think this was a big enough deal to upload to youtube- it means your director doesn't yell at you enough =p

  • Oh my gosh, I dealt with two different women who constantly, constantly, constantly yelled at people, and humiliated me in front of the entire class. To this very day, I am glad I stayed very tough and never quit just because of staff behavior.

  • One time a member complained about being tired near the end of rehearsal. Our director made us run 2 laps around the track then play our entire show without stopping. I almost passed out. And one person actually did. He then went on after we were done to say, "Now you know what it feels like t be tired. Don't say you are when you aren't."

  • @ttrreeyyyy1 Our band director threatens to do that to us but never actually has xD

  • Until your highschool band director threatens to throw up on you, you havent seen anything.

  • I once had a band director who attempted to take the intercom out of the wall with a screw driver after the principal "interrupted" his class. He was an extremely nice guy and very funny too, but he could really get a temper.

  • That's not a temper tantrum... that's what you do when people won't listen to you..

  • Is This Angelo State University??? Because I got here and this practice field looks very similar...

  • Our and directorS (we have three(and I'm only in HS!)) yell so much, this is their version of talking.

  • @visualvexation My marching band has 8 instructors. 3 is nothing. My main instructor has a head set and she puts it on the back of the field then sits in the stands and talks into it so everyone can hear her..although, she doesnt really need it. Her voice is already loud enough

  • That's normal for a band director lol especially if his kids are acting like that when he needs their full attention. There's a saying in my school band when ever our band director is pissed T.I.P. (Tip) which means, T (directors name) Is. Pissed. Its meant as a joke but we get down to business after its passed around.

  • this is just mad for mines lol we gets pissy u KNOW he is pissed

  • why does he sound like a chipmunk?

  • the reason he is having a hissy fit is because you are literally ALL talking........if we did that, it would be 1 hour of running laps for us.........

  • Oh mai gawd that ees sooo scary

  • This happens to us all of the time

  • hahah our band director doesnt take shit, he deals it.

  • Why is that band director wearin a suit to rehearsal?!?

  • you call this a hissy fit??? Thats nothing, thats considered normal for aggrevation of our band director. If you consider that a hissy fit then you havent seen anything yet.

  • Gotta love them band directors.

  • haha we once ran laps with our instruments. ;( im a sousaphone. :(

  • dang this is nothing compared to my band director we screw up we're on the ground doing push ups while he's lecturing us. even if one person screws up we all drop.

  • haha, one time our band director was so mad he literally jumped off the stand (was about 15' high) and he got caught by a of piece of broken wood, and got a wedgie! TRUE STORY

  • Meh, if your director doesn't explode occasionally...or a lot, then you'll probably suck.

  • Trust me... This is not a hissy fit... Come to my practice on a bad day. You might end up crying.

  • @jonasbrothersmate12

Agreed. This is not a hissy fit. my band director was the same. He crushed many hearts, and made many, many band students cry...D:

  • You call this a hissy fit? Really?

My band director can have rage-quits BEYOND BELIEF. This is nothing.

  • lol you guys make ur band directors sound horrible...ours are awesome :D!

  • My band directors, all three of them, would do a hell of a lot worse than that on a good day. Except when the one my freshman year took too much "headache" medicine and made the entire band stop and watch a group of wild turkey cross the road new our practice 'field.' Then he made a terrible joke saying he told us to look at the turkeys, and we all turned to the trumpets. The he screamed at the trombones for 46 minutes.

  • my band director is on his man period pretty much 24/7. But that's what makes us such a great band. The fact that he puts so much attention into every little detail to make it both look great and sound great means that he's a great director. The literally doesn't give a fuck about our feelings either. He makes you cry? He doesn't care. You give him an excuses and he makes you do laps. You gotta do what you gotta do to get shit done.

  • our band directors are awesome XD i mean, yeah they yell occasionally but just because we're being stupid or something. I LOVE MARCHING BAND! :D

  • luckily i have a really good band dirtector...he only REALLY raises his voice once a year...he's just a really bad procrastinator or spreads himself to thin and forgets to do things. otherwise he's AWESOME and we don't know what we would do without him.

  • This reminds me of a REAL ahole band director I had in high school. He was a complete and utter psycho. Would get pissed off at me and other band members and throw his baton at us. I used to always throw it back at him.

This same a hole was responsible for me quitting band and giving up the trumpet. I should never have quite music.

It is now more than 30 years and I still get mad at myself for giving it up (and I was VERY good too).

  • Imagine that person doing that everyday & you have our school's band director

  • i couldn't play my diddles right cause it had an awkward buzz in it...so my snare tech took a knife a stabbed the drum head and cut the head all the way in half...i have a new tech now

  • We just do pushups...

  • dude, our director turns purple and starts crying like a little girl. then he yells and storms off. we all just kinda stand there with scared looks on our faces. even our techs feel awkward!

  • My band director has a short, hot temper lol... when he gets angry, it's like a ticking time bomb O_____o

  • that was hardly a hissy fit.

  • @leeshapesh09 does the capitalization matter?

  • Our band director threw music stands at us, cried, stormed out of class, recorded us from the back of the room to see what we were doing during class, and my personal favorite, took a brand new bass clarinet and chunked it on the floor because someone pissed him off.

  • @jgreen3900 OMG, and I thought my band director was a serious problem when we pissed him off.....but then again, he'd kill anyone that chunked a school owned instrument let alone a new one....but, wait isn't what ur director does named as something called, oh I don't know, ABUSE! Good luck nxt year if ur still in band and hes still there:)

  • @jgreen3900 if my band director would have done that to my bass clarinet i wwould have cried for months and quit!

  • that's a tallass podium.

  • Omfg my band directors are nice and when they get mad.... O_o

  • Our band director never yells and when he does, it's scary. He also drove the bands golf cart through us marching the show on our practice field one day. He also almost(intentionally) ran over some seniors with a full sized activity bus. He's amazing

  • If thats what people in band call a temper I'd like to see them play any kind of sport and listen to some of the coaches.

  • @rj908 in drum corp, it's ridiculous. you get chewed out. I'm in the military and I'll tell you that.

  • Story of my life. >___<

  • That isn't that band. My band director came down out of his tower and ran after the trumpets one practice. And he is not an athletic man. Quite chubby.

  • Well, I know how this feels :/

    -Cameron

  • why is he so high up? i don't remember ever seeing my kid's director being on a stand quite that high.

  • @wlchambers Maybe it's one of those large bands that take up most of the field?

  • haha our band director would always jump up and down like a cartoon

  • i spot a kappa brother!

  • our band director gets so pissed off at the trombones. I don't even know why. They were messing up just as bad as the rest of us one practice when our band director said,"Okay trombones just put em down and start running the track." It was insane. They had all probably run about 3 miles before they rejoined practice.

  • if anyone thinks this is a "hissy fit", you're a bunch of pussies.

  • Yeah but mine is new, just got him 3 years ago and he is so COOL! But sometimes when we don't do the set right for like the 5th or 6th time THEN we have a prob lol...

  • My bad. Forget the other comment. My band director yells crazy, turns red, gives us the eye, and breaks something or slams whatever he is holiding on his hands. It's only happened twice, but it's scary to witness. Otherwise, he just stops and takes deep breaths.

  • Wow. My bad

  • Seems that a large percentage of music directors are in the wrong job for their perfectionist personalities...

  • lol! that sounds like my band director

  • Hm. Well, my band director has never actually stomped his foot, not that I've seen, but I have heard that he broke his baton once and walked out of the room in tears. And he really and truly expects perfection out of us. At least we have another band director who balances it out nicely...he's the kind of guy who makes you feel guilty so you WISH he would just yell at you.

  • my dad is my band director....i hate it when he yells lol

  • OMgosh I'm one of the people standing on the field! lol small world

  • our band director lost his voice screaming at the band, so now he just uses a microphone and a long-ranger lol

  • My director is as nice as they get, lol. I dont think I've ever seen him yell before. You really cant blame him though, some bands (like this) clearly arent paying much attention when he is talking.

  • If that's the worst your directors got be thankful ! I could tell some bad storys.

  • this is my band director on a good day.

  • xD my band director is only 23 so he doesn't throw big hissy fits. He just curses but with no emotion. You can never tell when he's mad because he has the same low voice when he's happy, or sad, or angry!

    I love Mr.Graham. LOL

  • Our director has coke bottle glasses, long white hair, and refuses to cuss in band practice. So instead his jumps up and down (to where he actually fell OFF his podium one day) and hollers in gibberish until he's red in the face. It looks like a skinny version of Santa Claus in a baggy polo and khakis is having a seizure. LOL.

  • Nothing compared to mine. >>;

@davo7477 Ours has thrown things, but not at people thankfully. He threw a stand once...the top broke off and he gave to my best friend. She took it home and hasn't touched it since freshman year. XD

  • Hahaha our director threw a chair at a student once!

  • thats like my director

  • Haha, that girl with the flute reminded me when mine almost got ran over by a truck... :3

  • pshh thats nothing my band director makes this one look like a teddy bear...

  • that was great!

    gotta love band camp!!

  • Funny thing is that i am in that band.

  • Thats not as bad as some of the ones my directer has, he got so angry once he just went off feild and went home, having the assistant Band director teach for the rest of the day

  • lol, the only word i understood was "this diagonal", mostly because we've heard it so many times

  • love the jeans...lol

  • ahhha, that's like nothing compared to ours. (:

  • that was dum :(

  • I wish we could synthisize our director's voice when he yells. That'd be hilarious.

He gets mad every once in a while, but It's always for some good reason. We've got a good director. He knows we work hard for him and he works hard for us. It's a good system.

  • Not as bad as ours. He said he is trying to be nicer this year, so he will put $1 in a jar everytime he yells and $10 every time he breaks a remote xD

  • wow, effing random. i was at that school when taht happened. smithiger was crazzy

  • @chamilitaryman What school is this?

  • id be pissed , they shoulda been set with feet together at attention that way its faster to fix a form rather than spend 20 minutes fixing kids off their spots around the field and getting no where

  • one of our band directors just up and walked off in the middle of practice because we kept on fucking up this one set. everybody looked at each weird for the next ten minutes til the captains said we could leave if we wanted to. nobody left.. the brass, winds, and drums kept rehearsing separately and eventually the drum majors stepped in and had the entire band practicing until we got it right. We were a dedicated group of kids and he was just an immature asshole.

  • @Unclesamslair I think all band directors are this way... I know mine was!

  • @Unclesamslair It was probably because everyone was talking and no one was paying attention, no one cared. So he figured, "why should i?"

  • My band director has a mic too. One that reaches all the way to the Bojangles that is a little over a quarter of a mile from our practice field but close enough for everyone there to hear that a trumpet named Tom is a various assortment of names.

  • @AngelFace817 Thats hilarious

  • My band director saw how a drummer was playing while he was talking once. He was so mad he went up to him, grabbed his sticks, and threw them accross the parking lot we practice in. Another time, he got mad that we didnt get a good rating at a contest. He kicked a chair accross the room that had someones stuff in it. Funny.

  • My band director took some sticks from the tenors and threw them at the bleachers, but one didn't go far and it hit this girl on the shoulder. it was hilarious! XD

  • Ever got stabbed by a pencil? That's assult !

  • Comment removed

  • haha how dare he care how the band looks!

  • I had a band director once who kicked a chair all the way across the room because the low brass screwed up a chord. Then, two years later, he threw a clarinet because a trombone player was being a jackass. Then, that same year, he threw his baton across the room, breaking it, and then stormed into his office, kicking two stands over on his way. He was one scary dude.

  • hahaha wow...so we aren't alone....

  • I remember freshman year my director jumped half the letter down from the top of the box, ran down all the bleachers, across the track and onto the field just to throw his drill notebook full force to the ground and yell at us. Funny has hell

  • woh... what kind of band is that? my band director never stands on something like that! XD lol but my band director gets worse hissy fits... cus words and all. But you know, it's hard to control a huge high school band like ours. about 150 or so.

  • mine throws the nearest thing to him and has a hugggeee wooden paddle that he will wopple you with lol

  • a band is only as god as its band director....wow sucks for this band.

  • Soumnds like mine XD

  • I mean stubby legs. Um why does your director have an alvin and the chipmunks voice?

  • @inplsartist I believe you mean "high pitched"? He sped up the volume.

  • omg trust me that wasn't bad at all. I got yelled at by both the directors once because I did not get in the right into two people correctly which is wasn't my fault. Damn I had to take huge ass steps and I have scrawny legs.

  • @inplsartist thats gonna suck when you have sex.

  • @nusua funny but I am flexible

  • you think that's bad. I'm a fat bastard marching contra and we have this one set where i have to get between two tenors who are like 3 steps apart and i hit them almost every time, so my band director literally threatens to stab the fat out of me so i can make the set..... it hurts.... on the inside....

  • @inplsartist

Try going through three lines of people (Colorguard, trombones and tuba) from the home-side to near back side of the football field (Across the field, basically. Not the 100 yard way) in 16 counts and be able to turn around at the exact same time while making it look good.

    Did I mention, 144+ bpm?

Our directors are cool, yet they sometimes forget that we're still teens and not robots =/

  • @JShawtyKim Try doing it at 208 backwards with a set of tenors on. In high school. It's called "proper technique and getting over it". For real.

  • @doublebassheeltoe

I am in High school -__-

I respect the paramilitary style and the discipline, but at some points, they forget we are NOT college drum corp.

  • @JShawtyKim I was doing it in high school. So can you.

  • @doublebassheeltoe

I already finished, thank you very much.

I'm proud of the fact that we were that good. However, I'm just stating that the directors neglect our feelings AT TIMES. That does not mean I falter from hard work and dedication.

  • @JShawtyKim College drum corp? Dont you just mean Drum Corp? I marched when i was 15-18

  • @inplsartist i feel u there

  • My band director threatened to hit me with my own euphonium. I was scared for my life. Another time, he threw his baton(other wise known as 'my precious stick-thingy' to him) at my section!

  • AEA

  • my band director wouldve thrown something at us.....he threw a glock block and a drumstick at us before....o_o scary times

  • @tatixmunro I'm in colorguard, and our choreographer HATES us. She threw drumsticks at us one time... now we just piss her off on purpose XD Mostly because we want her to throw more stuff at us while our band director is watching, and he'll fire her (we hate her too!) lol

  • because he is a whiny, wuss bag, small penis nerd... anyone that is that poor of a communicator, leader and organizer shouldnt be so surprised things go awry, due to their inexperience and incompetence. Does the guy even have a college degree?

  • y he all dressed up my director cause they look like yall r just learn yalls moves

  • that is one tall podium o.O

  • @mangoxmaniiac It's not a podium, it's scaffolding.

  • my band director i had for 7th and 8th grade would threat to kill us with our stands lol... and she knew everyone's parents so there was no hiding -_-

  • Did he really stamp his foot?

    Lol

My band director would be on the ground, and the visual captionhead would be on the scaffold.

  • hahahahahhaa

  • and if he was shorter, he'd be my bd.

  • lol my director would probally do this!!!!!!!

  • He had a mantrum.

  • HA!!! that was funny

  • holy crap, who's that band director?! i might know him!

  • My band director is usually pretty happy, but if we make him mad... oh God...

  • when mine throws a tantrum, he usualy throws his baseball cap on the ground, and shouts really loudly DOG GONNIT!!! you have to try not to laugh!

  • That's hardly a temper tantrum compared to what our band director does x)

But I found this video funny:) stamping his foot XD

  • haha, it's funny because he stamps his foot like a small child :P lol

  • if thats a flip out thats nothing my director throws drum sticks at us looses his voise and makes the band run and durring rehursals he comes down and like yells like straight in our faces

  • Today my band director gave my section (Baritone) 6 laps for breathing in the wrong place.

  • my band director is a big black scary guy. once during band camp he got mad and yelled (roared) at the band. i was scared cuz im a freshmen

  • Hahaha what a loser, my band director has done that before when he kicked me and the other trombones out of the game from doing trombone suicides on the field

  • Thats exactly what my director does! We call him wolly will cause he looks exactly like him! he almost fell off of the tower cause he was freaking out! best rehersal ever!

  • wow small band what flight are you?

  • My band is smaller than that, we are flight 4 but we are a very respected band throughout our state.

  • eyah we're flight 4 as well and most people are mixed about us... aminly where we're from but they know we can march as of now we're qualified for states

  • Yeah I go to atherton, which is a very small school in Michigan..

  • OH really I'm from Mi as well where is atherton?

  • it's in Burton, which is like right outside of flint.

  • Oh okay i go to South Lake from Saint Clair Shores just outside Detroit

  • oh okay that isn't too far. you guys gonna be at ford field here soon?

  • wel we still have 2 competitions if we do poorly which i dont think we will then we wont be at ford field but i pray we're the tenth out of 10 spots for flight 4 at states =/ whats your show?

  • yeah we still have clarkston and durand, in that order. will you be at either of those?

  • i will be at both :D

  • omg,, maybe we'll see each other =O

    what do you play?

  • i play snare drum youll know it's me because im the only white guy playing snare... what other competitions were you at?

  • haha. well our last competition was at atwood and before that was troy athens.

  • oh really we won at Troy Athens and then we went to Novi and Linden

  • Oh that was you guys who won.. I knew your school sounded familiar lol.

  • thats normal for my drum major and that girl needs to get off color guard she dont know how to twirl a damn riffle im in color guard i would know

  • Maybe she's a rookie? Beginning of season? Learning curve? It doesn't come instantly.

  • well, you don't know how to write correctly.

  • thats kinda wat my band director get like sometimes.(if you read this mr watring im just playin)

  • thts pretty funny how u made the voice that high!

  • not as bad as mine. when hes pissed anyway...

  • Where is that it? That setup looks oddly familar...

  • haha short tempers sooo true but i love mine hes amazing hahahahahaha

  • for some reason it seems like a lot of band teachers come with short tempers. hmmm....

  • Yeah. Except, my band director will we angry for 15 seconds then happy again.

  • @skiracers most do when you piss them of... :)

  • @skiracers do you blame him with the lack of respect from the retard 6th graders that are frolicking around while hes trying to give instruction?

  • @nsudrumshard actually if im not mistaken.. this is a college. regardless, hes trying to give directions from the box.. they should be quiet.

  • reminds me of my short band director. napolian complex is a bad thing to have when your a band director lol

  • daaaaang what a baby.

    someone needs to mature up

  • hahahaha

  • dunb director.

if i was in ya guys band i would knock dat hting down!

  • My director is still throwin chalk!!
