Good idea keeping the dog w/ the babies, that way when they get older she'll protect them from stray (neighbor's) dogs.

we had to take her away from the chicks cause she ended up sitting on one and killing it. Out of all those babies on four have made it over a year. I have a doberman who thinks they are great to play with, the only think is that he is a little ruff.

Oh its my first time seeing baby chicks with a dog, thats so adorable and very cute, you must be very lucky to have a caring dog like that (^_^), and i love the part were the dog is pushing the chicks a little bit with his nose, please post more

If you introduce you dog to the chicks when they are little chances are he would protect them, this has all been a surprise to me, in fact our dobe still protects them.

thanks for your comment. Starla is now expecting her own babies, we don't know if this is a false prengency or not, she wanted babies so bad after the baby chicks and she cried when we kept them away from her, we have a few more weeks before we know.
