@Sky300 I can't really remember. This was shot a year ago. I'd only just got the camera and I think everything was on auto. It was the first few shots I was taking. Now-a-days, I would set a fixed white balance, shutter speed, aperture etc.
@minhnhat Hello. Glad you got a Kx. I still love mine. The artist I used is Laura Marling — although I shouldn't really have used it as it's copyrighted. This was just a quick test that I'm not using for anything proper and I didn't record any sound (other than through the on-camera mic). Maybe look for a band that are looking to get a music video made or something.
1.) You need a lens with a wide aperture (something between f1.4—f2.0) for such a selective depth of field. The kit lens that comes with it can't really do that. But you can pick them up for £10—£20 on Ebay. There's loads of them about as they used to come standard on old film SLRs but they fit and work on the digital SLRs. The extra light they let in makes it look more like film too.
2.) Yes. I did some subtle tweaking with Magic Bullet Looks
For most of this I used an old manual 50mm prime lens at f1.7. Gives a lovely depth of field. The wide shots were taken with a Sigma 10—20mm lens at f3.5.
I got the camera on Saturday and shot this footage that afternoon. I'm absolutely blown away by the quality of it. The sound quality is rubbish though and you can hear the lens when you pull focus. It's alright because I've got external sound recording equipment. I can use the sound on the camera for reference only.
Nice job

@jamiewindsor oh ok. so what kind of adjustments do u use now then? it must be even nice now.

@Sky300 I use whatever is appropriate for what I'm shooting. I manually set and lock the exposure, white balance, aperture, shutter speed.

Isn't it ok to use copyrighted music since you refer them "officialy" with their music tool thing. (I don't know how it's called).
I saw many video clip doing that on youtube and they say nothing about it then.
(I guess if you do advertising for their music with an amazon link to their music, it's ok :)
Thanks jamie for your fast answer, I might post my video this week or maybe next week.

Hi Jamie, I have three question if you don't mind :)
1) 0:16 - 0:21 Do you need that 50mm f1.7 lens to do that focus effect ?
2) Did you aply any video effect such as saturation or is it a raw video.
(I'm asking you these question because I'm interested in this camera and your answer might help me decide)
3) Can I compliment you and say that your video is awesome and that I loved it ? :D
