whenever i go out and date interracially,race will be one of the main issues we would have to get out on the table. not in a confrontational way but having a real discussion. i like this episode of true life.

There is something so moving about seeing these two in a civil rights museum. I guess the fact that just a few decades ago they both could have been killed just for being seen together. See him washing dishes, making less money, she does most of the talking, etc. Strippers generally hate men, but he is a boy so that fits well. Once he grows up, things may change.

All I can say is we could not kick out all the racist inbred and ignorant people fast enough.. The Americans complaining have no life to start with. After Blackmon's horrific book ("Slavery By Another Name") even Malcolm X didn't overstate the era of Jim Crow. It has been actually much worse. It was - slavery by another name. Noam Chomsky mentioned that it was even worse than slavery. But there are some vital things african americans got to remember. First: europeans had actually done much more horrible things towards other europeans. Second: africans have been hardly any better. And racism - of course - is mostly learned issue.

It takes special strong character to do so, because most people just live their lives the way other people want them to, whether they are aware of this or not.

I'm glad they went to the museum, I know that this might not be the best choice of words when I say this but that was so classy! there's a psych experiment where a large group of people are given a task or problem to figure out. then they are given a randomly colored t-shirt to wear. without being asked to do so, they separate in to smaller groups based on the color of their t-shirts. more ideas is obviously better, but they intentionally limit themselves.
we're hard coded to exploit the patterns of nature. it's how we think. unfortunately, that also works on our basic physical appearances.

Only then could they obtain the self respect and dignity necessary to let go of resentment for past atrocities, and be earnestly able to say "I've gained equality." Even a violent revolution could accomplish nothing if the 'uprising' is stagnant.
