  • anyone know where to get the soundtrack?

  • Most of the sound effects were used again in the GBA version take the cursor sfx

  • I think maybe the resolution and audio track is far superior in snes version.

  • @piromaniac9999 NOOO REALLY??????

  • @melonofwater1 no need to get angry about it.

  • The colors are just fine, but the sound is superior in the snes version by far.

  • the sound like GXSCC/ LoL

  • Man...Japan always Gets all the good games and not the US... I just wish there was a English Translation for this game if someone were smart enough to make one :l

  • @GalaxiaShadow

What the hell are you talking about. It came out on 3 time in the U.S on handhelds. GBA, DS and PSP. All 3 of those versions beat this 8 bit crap.

  • @SPS148669 I mean a 8-bit FF IV game in English (Wonderswan), is that so hard to explain for you?

  • The music on the wonderswan color reminds me of Sega Gamegear.

  • i miss squaresoft

  • anyone looking to play these games a psp is great for this you can play ff 1-8 on a psp and use the tv out to fully recreate the game as it would be on a ps1/nes/gba and when u need some ff on the go the psps sleep mode is perfect for rpgs like this truly the best of both worlds. a ds can play ff 1-6 which also pretty cool but the lack of tv out and a real sleep mode makes the psp slightly better.

  • I feel like I'm playing the GBA version, but with downgraded music.

  • @Hiryu7777 You... kind of are.

  • The GBA version essentially is the Wonderswan version

  • ...hahahha "misu" XDD

  • i no, lol i thought only i noticed that! its spelt MISU like the soup but it means MISS XD

  • hah you're not the only one who can read katakana

  • hahaha i always thought it was funny but couldnt really say anything because i didnt really think any one would get it XD

  • anyone else thinks that it sounds better than the GBA? xD

  • Wow. I don't mind the sound in this. I originally thought, having only heard the battle theme by itself that, the music would suck in a battle, but it is quite good. SquareEnix forever!

  • sorry about the thumbs down, everyone. My hand slipped ;-;

  • @Flamefire1031 You mean SQUARESOFT forever. Square-enix makes "meh" games.

  • @darth612 Blame Nomura and Wada

  • @JuicyPlayer YOU SUN OF A GLITCH

  • Question about FF1: in the wonderswan it has more battle themes and another ending theme in NES quality? I mean I found them on the net but I thought they were made for the PS remake.

  • It is true. I have all the rips from Final Fantasy I Wonderswan :)

They're the same as the PS1 version, but with the Wonderswan's sound :)

  • Man, The WonderSwan...such an underrated handheld. If it had lasted longer, it would have been awesome. Squaresoft did a good thing when they assisted Bandai's little portable with some of their classic RPGs. I love the SaGa (Makai Toushi SaGa) remake as well as the Final Fantasy games. Also, the very first version of Riviera (Yakusoku no Chi: Riviera) was for the WonderSwan. I would have loved to see more quality platformers and such too...

  • The game runs well on wonderswan, but the sound lacks as it has an inferior processor. 8bit sound on a 16bit game is kinda horrid. Good video though :D

  • 8 bit sound owns, but good point

  • no FF 1 and 2 are better done on the wonderswan..

  • the graphics are equal of a the gameboy advance te music equal nes

  • ah! you asshole...

now i want a wonderswan color....

    DAMNIT!

  • Think you could record music off of it and post it? Just curious.

  • What's, 'wonderswan'?

  • XD Haha, I played this version of the game first, so the music sounds entirely normal to me~

  • wow are those wonderswan exclusive battle backgrounds?

  • They were, until the GBA version borrowed the same graphics.

  • Nah i have the SNES version and it looks the same

  • I supose the wonderswan color may suport 16 bit graphs...but not the sound xD

its pretty weird to see the game and hear the music...but thats cool!

  • its snes graphics and nes sound! the original game was released in snes

  • I would have thought the palettes would be to advanced for a NES.

  • God I love the music; this game right here started me on all RPS..

  • Actually it's a WonderSwan Color REMAKE of the game and was only released in Japan....

  • This is SWEET! I' get it just for the awesome 8-Bit style music!

  • Wow I'm surprised the Wonderswan Color could handle the graphics very well.

I thought the Wonderswan Color was just slightly better than the Gameboy Color

  • Huh. The graphics are nice, but the sound doesn't match up.

  • Kains' jumping sound effect seems to be more at home on an 8-bit system rather than a 16-bit system =/

  • Oh, and I'd kill to hear the WSC rendition of Zeromus.

  • wow pretty decent for a small system like this

  • and yes i know final fantasy is originally a nintendo game only back then nintendo was more serious than now

  • its look more like thee gba version of ff4

  • The GBA version uses the graphics from this version. So doo the first two games on PS1 (Origins)

  • Actually, FF3 was realeased in Wonderswan, only the game turned out into complete fail.

ballfucked!!! Why no PSP/GBA version of FF3? Square, you dumbfuck!

  • eh.. you know they remade FF3 on DS dont you?

  • Yea...but sadly... I hated the DS's battle system, it kinda ruined NES a lot...

I wanted to see it in PSP.

  • how its ruined? i played both and i dont see diffrences only when you change jobs you have to remove everything on the NES

and i wanted it to be on PSP too i dont think Nintendo takes Final fantasy seriously they make them look like mario and other nintendo mascots

  • Lol i use emulator and yes the graphic isnt good but its the fun that matters to me not graphic

  • you got a point DS sucks

i think PSP is waaaaay to better instead why they didnt make FF3 for psp it would be waaaaaaaay more awesome

  • yeah i agree, they remade Final Fantasy I and II with high resolution2D graphics. Why couldnt they have done the same for Final Fantasy III?

  • so you hate the DS cuz there aren't any emulators?

    get a fucking job dude.

  • well doesn't square enix created the game but nintendo just liscenses the game i think...

  • Most people that want Final Fantasy on the PSP are graphic whores. There's more to games than pretty looks, guys. Square went with the console that's selling more as to get it more exposure. It's "We like money" 101, for the love of god. Also, saying Nintendo doesn't take FF seriously is ridiculous, because Nintendo DOESN'T MAKE THEM. SQUARE-ENIX DOES. Nintendo liscenses it, nothing more. Ignorance is not bliss. Not for you.

  • what do you mean graphic whores? have you saw the psp versions ? they are all in 2D pixel graphics (like the original versions) but the DS versions are 3D (not that i dont mind but the DS cant handle 3D graphics well) and Final fantasy first came in nintendo

  • I actually enjoy the Final Fantasy remakes for the PSP, and yes, they are pretty darn nice and a lot of fun to boot. The DS may not be as powerful a system as the PSP, but it can make things look pretty decent at times. Looks aren't everything though, like I said. I personally think that the DS is a better handheld system than the PSP, but this is just my opinion. I'm not trying to anger anyone, that's just how I feel.

  • Still graphics are an important aspect. You don't want to play a game that's graphics look like shit and if the game can handle better graphics then why not?

  • Square doesn't make games that "look like shit", so that point is moot. As far as visuals go square is very good at completely utilizing every graphical advantage a system has. Graphics are somewhat important but are completely secondary to gameplay and, in the case of RPG's, story and everything that lies with it. As to why FFIV is on the DS and not the PSP, well, FFIII sold a bucketload. A couple million. Why not make another on the system that did so well with the last one?

  • I was not talking about Square I was talking about video games in general.

  • The only game I'd say would work for PSP is Final Fantasy VI (only because I wouldn't want to see it in cartoony character models), but the DS games still look beautiful for the system.

  • Wrong. FFIII was canceled on the Wonderswan. Stop spreading false information.

  • I can't believe III didn't make it to the Wonderswan Color, we would have had it on the Gameboy Advance already, but on the other hand, it probably wouldn't of been on the DS. Speaking of which, I can't wait for IV to come out for the DS, two days before my birthday!

  • Actually, FF3 was realeased in Wonderswan, only the game turned out into complete fail.

ballfucked!!! Why no PSP/GBA version of FF3? Square, you dumbfuck!

  • I know it was like Square looked FFIII and went "oh sh*t!"

  • You're the dumb one. FFIII was slated to be on the Wonderswan, but it was canceled. Stop spreading false information.

  • Great heldheld system! Almost the absolute best, second only to NeoGeo Pocket Color.

(My NeoGeo Pocket Color + 16 games for $100 should arrive today! I can't wait!)

  • I wish I had some games for this system since I have 2 of them sitting on my table right now, lol.

  • Played this game when I was 6. I got frustrated that I couldn't beat Myst Dragon. I wonder why?...

Now I beat this game without a sweat. o_o

  • it depends on which system you wnat to play it on...but I recommend you to own the actual game before you get the rom...

  • whats a wonderswan????

  • a wonder swan is a system released in Japan by Bandai to compete with the game boy and game boy color with it's better graphics. You never heard about i 'cause it was only released in Japan..ad whoever gave "sonicteams" a thumbs down is an asshole! seriously.

  • Make more please. I want to hear the world theme.

  • Do the Zeromus Battle with Wonderswan! I wanna see it!

  • This sounds like the original Gameboy.

  • That boss looks like the Mist Dragon!

  • it is -.-

You can simply read "ミストドラゴン" as "Mist Dragon"

  • Oh... O_O

    I can't understand Japanese...

  • simply if you read katakana - which I do - its your subtle sycophancy Im sure!!!!

  • Looks like? That is the Mist Dragon!

  • wonderswan managed to get the colors right but the music sound to much 8-bit..

listen to the start of the battle music.. it sounds like the tune when you find/learn something from Shadowgate..

Although it doesn't sound that bad.. :)

  • But that sucks because nowdays, they aren't making abything of NES. I want ff4-ff12 to be NES.

  • I think it would be difficult to pull off Final Fantasy X, XI, and XII for the NES. The rest might work though.

I would have loved if they released the NES format of Final Fantasy III instead of the DS version.

  • Or id might like a GBA release.

  • That would have been even better =)

  • lol i was thinkin what would ff7 look like in nes format ^_^ hmmmmmm probebly better ^_^

  • Nice Music 8D

  • i prefer 8-bit music to the SNES.

  • I prefer for that too. This one sounds like a Game Boy Format.

  • I subscribed to you simply to see the rest of this game in Wonderswan, and/or hear more of its music.

    Awesome.

  • Holy crap... holy... 8-bit music batman. lol.

  • man, this soundtrack sucks.Thank goodnes there are the Snes version(original one \o/)that is better

  • I loooovvvveee this music. Are there any other videos with the music for this game NES'd?

  • Ouch. Rydia smacked those two - Cecil and Kain - hard with Titan! I thought I lost the game then. :p

  • It's a shame that the GBA version is a port of THIS one and not the SNES one. I like the 8-bit music though, heh.

  • It is a port of the SNES Version, when it was the Wonderswan port, it still would have the 8 Bit music, duh...

  • The game was never ported from SNES to handheld. When it was made for WSC, it was done from the ground up to look better than the SNES version. When it was brought to GBA, they ported what they already had on WSC which is why the GBA port is all glitchy (apparently WSC didn't have that much memory or something which caused commands to get tied up in queue).

  • Man this original music sounds so similar to the original pokemon red, blue, yellow music.

  • lol this reminds me of ff1psp

  • Sweet! 8-bit Soundtrack FTW!

  • FF 1,2(Japan), and 2(A)/4(J)'s orders:

NES/SNES, WSC, GBA (FF4 soon to be DS, as a project has been revealed)

    FF5's order:

    SNES (Japan), and GBA.

    FF3(A)/6(J)'s order:

    SNES, and GBA.

    FF3(J)'s order:

    NES(Japan), and DS.

  • You're forgetting PS1.

FF1 & 2j came out for NES, WSC, PS1, and GBA.

FF3j came out for Famicom and DS.

FF4: SNES, PS1(with Chrono Trigger), GBA, WSC, & DS (soon)

    FF5: Super Famicom, PS1, GBA

    FF6: SNES, PS1, GBA

  • ff1 and 2j are on psp too

nobody has heard of this i guess?

  • I know, I forgot! Sorry.

  • its weird but ff1psp is just origins 1 with better graphics.

they use ds full potential but they dun give 1.5 shits about psp

damn SquarEnix is a lazy bastard.

and to think they made smrpg:tlotss[y does every mario rpg have 7 stars in it? lol]

  • Actually origins doesn't have the optional dungeons like the GBA/PSP have.

  • Uh you forgot the MSX2 version (FF1)

  • Figures. It had to be the Job system's coding structure to cancel the Wonderswan Color version! If it was not for that slip up, Final Fantasy III (from 1990) would be remade for the Game Boy Advance!

  • You do realize that Final Fantasy 3 was also on the WSC, don't you Toneman? And that still puzzles me as to why FF3 got the shit end of the stick until that watered down 3D DS version came over to our shores.

  • Actually there isn't. Wonderswan Color FF3 was canceled because they had a really hard time readapting the Famicom version's coding structure to the WSC hardware (I suspect it's that job system). There is one stray screenshot out there though.

  • actually there is three out there at ign if you look. i checked it myself.

  • I'm a bit surprised that FF3 couldn't be ported here (It was canceled), yet FF4 (Which was on the SNES) could be, with groovy 8-bit music. :)

  • Nintendo pratically stole FFI, II, and IV from the WSC. They just upgraded the music a bit and translated it.

  • Can you be any more misinformed? WTF Square-Enix has always been the developer for Final Fantasy. If the versions on the GBA are worse, then that's because Square decided to make it so and cut corners.

  • Stop trying to pick a fight on the internet. It doesn't make you look cool.

What I meant was, the took the idea and used it for their already large popularity over the WSC, and since the FF games were Bandai's last hope for saving the WSC, they were covered up. Had they finished Final Fantasy III WS, they might have gotten better buisness. GBA Verions > WSC Versions because of WSC lack of msuic channels and back light.

  • You know Square Enix decided to release them on GBA too right?

  • Uh, no. SNES then WSC

  • ...

Stealing the idea of PORTING them. Come on people/. THINK.

  • people/

  • lol, this has got to be the funniest argument ive seen on youtube. let me continue it. what are u talking bout stealing the idea of porting them.

  • i guess this arguement is over. oh well.

  • i love the wonderswan soundtrack the best of ff4. so techno'e sounding :D

  • where did you get a wonderswan color?

  • wtf is a wonderswan?@

  • Wiki it.

  • Bandai's handheld. It was only released in Japan.

  • i like the boss music on snes better then gba, i have the snes version and ive beaten it (at least i think i have, hey dont blame me its been like what..6 years?) and i just got the gba version and the snes is better even though gba has bonus features

  • why does it sound like that? it sounds odd

  • This is on the Wonderswan system - the sound is completely computer generated - no synthesizer like on the 16-bit systems.

  • So are you saying that the synthesized music on the SNES version wasn't computer generated?

  • The SNES DOES use a synthesizer, the short story is that its sound chip was ahead of its time literally.

It could use higher quality samples. It was similar to wavetable synthesis (nowhere near a Tyros2's level but still damned impressive)

Wonderswan used PSG based sound, like Game Gear, Game Boy/Color, NES and Turbo-Grafx-16 did.

  • good graph but wtf is with the music?!

  • ive been able to complete ff3 on the origional famicom cart even though it was japenese because it rocked and i have this ws version too i bet i can beat this one

  • god i would KILL for a copy of the FFIVWSC soundtrack!! 8-bit sounds FTW

  • Wow! I always wondered how FF4 would sound in NES music style. *5 stars*

  • Wow, so this is what Final Fantasy IV would've sounded like on the NES... AWESOME!!!

This is my official favorite FF boss music.

  • You have to admit, it's kind of interesting listening to a 16-bit game with 8-bit sounds and music.

  • True - never thought I would hear those compositions in NES-style music. I'd like to hear the final boss music in that format.

  • I'd like to hear FF7 and up in NES music too :P

  • Quite a few People like to do stuff like that on Newgrounds

  • It actually exists here on Youtube. Just search for it.

  • shit, I'd rather listen to that than the SNES chip.

  • Heh. Now I know the sound quality of the Wonderswan.

  • FF4 FTW.

  • The sound sound's 8-bit for a 16-bit game, This is one of my favorite RPGs
