Jim Tressel delivered our first national title in 34 years. He knows what he's doing. He got us to a title game when we had 60% of our positions held by first year players.

The man knows how to coach and you must give him credit. If you don't you just show your football ignorance.

This year Ohio State will need to rely on their offense, which is pretty non-traditional. There's no way they could possibly rely on their defense. They need to get the ball into the hands of Wells as much as possible.

And continually giving the ball to Beanie is not a good plan. Eventually teams stack the line and cut off running room.

I don't know...there's a reason Woody won 3 National Championships, 13 Big Ten titles and 205 games during his time at Ohio State.

The defense has proven that they are unreliable. This has a lot to do with poor schemes and relience on the front-4 to make it into the backfield instead of continued blitzing (note Michigan vs. Florida, 2008 Capital One Bowl).

If you control the ground game, you control the clock and you control the game (note Illinois, 2007).

It is, but it's not. If a team can't stop a play, you keep running it until they can. That was Woody's philosophy, and it is as true today as it was when he was coaching. If a team can't stop Chris Wells, you keep running him. You don't mix it up, you keep it in Wells' hands.

So our schemes of maintaining 5-10 yards of cusion between the secondary and the wideouts is a good scheme, allowing the QB to pick the secondary apart while not putting a lot of pressure on the QB???

You don't give the ball to Beanie on every play. That is a stagnant offense that will be stopped. Teams will put 8 men in the box and he will have no where to go. Yea, if he was picking up 5 yards on every carry then you continue to give it to him. But he's not going to get 5 yards on every carry.

You want us to play man to man against everyone? Fine. We will get burned on big plays then.

If you actually watch and diagnose our games you will notice we play a variety of schemes on defense.

Wells averaged 5.9 ypc last season. When they put 8 guys in the box, you run double tight with a stacked backfield, much like Tressel ran in 2001. It may or may not work.

So how do you respond to Urban Meyer? Following the game they asked him what type of adjustments he made...he basically said why change when they never adjusted. He said this on national TV.

Chris Spielman...someone who knows a little about defense called Heacock out on the radio following the LSU loss as well.

Tressel needs to figure out how to beat an SEC team. Our record against SEC teams in bowl games is 0-9, and he's accountable for 1/3 of those losses.

He needs to shake up his coaching staff. He needs to get rid of both of his coordinators.

Don't forget that Tressel's 4th win was on his 9th try. The BCS game in New Orleans was Tressel's 12th championship game, and after 10years in NCAA Division I-A they will all count toward his career record. This is nothing short of amazing, if you ask me. Tressel is a championship savant, in my opinion.
