  • " Rus' " - is old name of Russia - before XV century.

"Rossiya" - Russians call Russia by this pronunciation.

It is as "Suomi" and "Finland".

    "Russiya" - is wrong word.

  • "Rossiya" was a Byzantian (greek) name of Rus'.

Russian tsars considered Russia as a sucessor of the Byzantium Empire after its fall, and Moscow was called "The Third Rome" (after Rome and Constantinople). Therefore Rus' began to name in a Greek way - Rossiya.

  • Actually, I never understood why some Russians consider its country as the "3rd Rome", because Rome was a completely dirty city full of thieves at dark streets, only a few "patricians" houses were well iluminated.

Pederasty was common among Romans, specially between lords and slaves and everything got close to changes when J. Cesar became dictator and tried to aproximate the government from popular masses, reason for that he was assassinated.

  • Besides of dark sides the Roman Empire

    was great,powerful,flourishing multinational

    country with progressive tech,arts,architecture,sciences and

military. It existed for centuries and left strong influences until present time.

Roman Empire became an equivalent of great, rich, сcultural, florishing country.

Not only Russians compare own country to the Rome. US besides of Roman's democracy simulate Roman Empire with Roman architecture of govt buildings, Roman digits on dollars and so on.

  • Long Live Motherland Russia !

  • Вставайте Люди Русские на Славный Бой на Смертный Бой.!
