Yeah, MxPx seems to have perfected Melodic hardcore on this one.

It may not be good for every mood, but when I need to get out some anger, it's great to listen to.

MxPx seems to have the most variety of styles of any band. It's kind of nice.

Anyways, what's with Melodic Punk being called "Pop Punk" by the Music Industry?

This is how MxPx started because Bad Religion and NoFx were big influences to their original sound. Secret Weapon was basically the band returning to their roots.

That isn't true because MxPx formed in 1992 and got signed by Tooth and Nail Records in 1994. The only thing Blink 182 has on the band is that they got signed to a major record label before MxPx did, whom got signed to A&R Records in 1997.

I might have to listen to the "Secret Weapon" album again, but I think Contention is the closest sounding song to the "Pokinatcha" album as far as the band returning to their roots.
