  • Thank you, You the best!!

  • " to keep up with..' probably means ' to do something , to carry on with sth with the same rate ' :)

  • @JamesESL really good vid i am not an english learner but this is part of my grammar homework

    its funny

  • What does up have to do with stopping? stop up I guess, but that's not that common.

  • you're a hot teacher

  • muchisimas gracias c: i love your lessons, they are really helpfull :D

  • It looks like lots of people really appreciate your style but I just find these little humourous spots in the middle quite distracting and unnessacery as you have enough interest in your voice, movements and subject without these.

  • Hey! I liked your class!

Something interesting is that you started saying: "What the Hell is that?" I sometimes say this in my classes and my coordinator hates it!!!! she finds it too rude.

I'm not that wrong, am I?

    Hugs, brotha!

  • thank you so much

  • I like you Mr. E

  • OMG thanks to james I'll pass my exams!

  • Too interesting!

  • Hi James I really appreciate the casual and entertaining way you apply to teaching. It's lot of fun to watch your lessons. I would be grateful whether you set up a lesson designed to the differences in usage for the verbs maintain and keep, sometimes they get to be way too confusind .Besides in my language Portuguese they quite hold the same meaning. Cheers.

  • he spelt the maintain wrong

  • Hello James. appreciate all your classes. It makes people like me and others understand better the language and its grammar.

    Thanks a lot, buddy.

  • good job teacher thank you so much.

  • Nice work!!!

  • Like this one. Trying to keep up with u guys

  • What does it mean when people say "Keeping up with the Jones" ?

  • What does it mean when people say "Keeping up with the Jones" ?

  • Thank you for your lessons , they are really helpful, please keep up with these good lessons online. Just add some more examples.

  • i like the way u teach, i really know more about E via you, thx u so much

  • In my opinion keep up cannot be used as a substitute for stay up. An example of this would be, I stayed up all night because of the noise. Now compare this with the sentence I was kept up all night because of the noise. See, by intuition the second sentence does not sound as good as the first.

  • @ansur996 The second sentence sounds just as good to me, actually.

  • @ansur996 In reality the second sentence is better, James example comes closer to the meaning, why? When you stay up all night it implies you did it willingly. In this case you were forced to stay up, therefore KEPT UP is a better choice.

  • good lesson...but i do not agree with the sentence "she kept me up all night"..somehow it doesn't make sense to me. I would rather say i stayed up all night

or she made me stay up all night.

  • Besides the lesson itself, keeping up with your lecture is a good training for my listening conprehension skills.

    So, I'm gonna keep up!

    many thanks from Tokyo.

  • omg this is great and u r hot!

    funny examples though ;)
