  • dude thats the fuccen gayest thing ever

  • does anyone camp before it?

    i do.

on the 16th i go down there (from manc)

    and leave on monday

  • lol

  • Glad to see most people understand why the show couldn't go ahead , i'm a volunteer of nearly 20 years and can tell u we tried everything in our power to keep it going but were beaten by the british weather . roll on 2009 ( hopefully the showers will be working in the blocks this year , I did try my best to sort that one out ! )

  • good job my dad bought the tickets for either day!

  • I agree with avensis, also being one of the volunteers there, that stood out in the rain all day long, soaked all the way through, and then also not having any hot water after being stood up for 14.5 hours and taking the week off work it was the last thing anyone wanted for it to be cancelled. However lets look forward to next years show and hope that its a huge success!

  • well as one of the volunteers that grafted in ankle deep water, was piss wet through all day, then to find out that we had no hot water in our accomodation block and it was my last show due to operational commitment (first show was 1998) and all i wanted to see was the Vulcum not some poxy B-1 that does not do the shows we used to get with high speed runs.I stand by RIAT for cancelling as it was the publics health and safety that was the main factor. fingers crossed for next year

  • overall, it cost my unit 3.6 million to bring 2 B-1s to Fairford, and it cost me the oppurtunity of a lifetime. I won't get to go probably ever again. The money was recouped in other ways, we still flew at farnborough every single day, but I'm still upset. I didn't think the weather was that bad.

  • WOW! you've portrayed last weekends ordeal just rite there mate. I was standing rite behind that mustang on the static park :P

  • Ha Bloody Ha

I know it was in the lap of the gods and not the fault of RIAT but I for one was absolutley devastated over all the planning that I (and my family) had put in to making it possible for me to attend. I am unemployed and partially dissabled and skint yet still managed to scrape together (Via car boot sales) £60/petrol £54/tickets £100/telephoto lens plus pocket money and food also the wife had to take a day off work ok she got holiday pay but it was a day wasted

  • well 4 me as an air cadet is was gd but it was abit sad 2 see no1 lookin at our polished shoes and ironed uniform :P

  • It was a sad weekend for the true air enthusiasts. and all crews and ground crews. but RIAT will be back in 2009 bigger and better an at Fairford.

  • lol. funny but at least the the raptor, gripen, f-16, eurofighter etc. still did practice displays. That made a lot of it up for me.

  • What the ???k
