But she saw a person the nurses were helping who was sick and thought "this is a place for people who are actually sick" and she ran out. She just never got into the gown and the bed. :)

Kristen is wonderful...the way she portrays the shock-like state Melinda is in when walking home in the dark, and the part around 9:37 when her hand goes to her shirt and she becomes very conscious that it's unbuttoned. The sick realization of it and the look of disgust and almost embarrassment is shown in her facial expression so well. It's heartbreaking.

I think the book made Andy like this horrible person, but the movie portrays that he isn't. and that he wanted to apologize, or atleast do the best he could to say sorry.

I'm not defending what he did, but I think with him being drunk, (and a guy), he didn't realize what a traumatic effect the act would have on her. Plus she was drunk too, so when she was saying "no" it didn't mean much to him.

@desilarki415 Also. What I really like about this movie is that you actually sense that Andy is person, not just a monster. Up until the final confrontation in the movie. That was just horribly overdone and destroyed the nuances that was put in during the earlier part of the movie. The nuances was what I really felt lifted the movie over the after school special. I'm not defending what Andy did, but he's obviously not a psycho, just a very, very, very stupid and ignorant boy.
