what's the actual purpose of using the cue chalk? I notice these pro's use it after every friggen shot! When i'm playin I use it like maybe 3 or 4 times in a game.
@Stingray7667 It prevents miscues and allows a better use of spin. Without the chalk, you would miscue regularly on any shots involving spin on the cue ball, which, for pro players, is basically every shot.
@Stingray7667 The chaulk is applied to create friction between the cue tip and the cue ball. After every shot chaulk comes off the cue. If you don't re-apply it, you run the risk of a miss cue.
me and my dad got a private lesson with massey in san jose. he is by far one of the most polite well humored and just plain fun guy to play with. he even signed a snapple bottle that was in one of his trick shots for me. my favorite player of all time
I always loved Mike. He is a great pool player, an excellent trick shot artist, IMO the best entertainer but most of all we met him in Croydon London England in what used to be New World snooker and pool club years ago. And he was without doubt the nicest guy in the world. We all played a couple of racks then he started shooting some trick shots. Was the best day of my life almost. Ever since I have always looked out for him coming back to the UK. What a hero!! I would love to meet him again
He is playing with a special built McDermott, which is probably 5 inches longer than a regular cue (I shot a bit with it while he was trying out a few of my cues).

thank you...very cool... i wounder if it was just the shaft longer, or a combo of but and shaft...
sonnydukes 2 years ago
@sonnydukes He uses a Z2 Predator shaft, better resistance.
