Thanks for the review. It looks like a nice laptop, but as with most other HP products (like their range of printers), what it makes up for in quality it lacks in endurance. This wouldn't be a very useful laptop if travelling is required in your daily activities.

i was looking at this laptop at best buy

and it gets virus easily and i was about to get this laptop so i mostly instead of buying it i went to staples and i got a better deal and i got a better laptop

and i had a best buy laptop before and got the most crazy and it was more money out of all of them plus i got a lot of virus on it and it sucked but the gaming on it was great and hey if u wont to buy a laptop from best buy u can but im just saying it will not work as good as they say it will.

After having a 17 inch DELL Vostro 2700 for 3 years , I got my HP DV8, the version selling in Italy does not have the TV card, DELL has a much better quality plastic and feel.

I don't like the estetical aspect, the silver rim is out of fashion 20 years now.

The keyboard doesn't have a good touch, the rest is excellent.

I needed a big screen for my job, unfortunately the glossy screen is not the best solution.

He forgets to mention how the base Nvidia driver crashes at least once a day! The TOTAL lack of driver support in general from HP for this laptop. He is COMPLETELY WRONG when he says LED backlit display. It's NOT LED its LCD.

At least he mentions the lack of a backlit keyboard and mediocre battery life.
