  • this kit or the axial scx 10 rtr? will be my first crawler

  • do you have drag brake

  • @junkiefight1 Yeah, built into the esc.

  • what rims r they?

  • Hi

How did u get the battery on the front links?

    Thanks Matt

  • @mechqeust Hi, Just cable tie a piece of thin plastic to the upper links to make the platform. I use some velcro on the battery and platform to secure. The battery is a 7.2v pack as used in the 1/16th traxxas revos. a small 2s lipos would be better though.

  • it looka like the steering is shit on them

  • Hi Sir.

Please tell me what motor do you have on your R1 ?

I'm getting mine in 2 days from now ?

I was thinking of a ORION Vortex 70A Crawler Combo (brushless)

Would love to here from you ! Cheers

  • @philippeclement

I'm using a matrix 55t motor and CC Sidewinder.....the drag brake on the Sidewinder is a bit rubish though!

Good luck with your R1, post some vids when you get it crawling :-)

  • @xMMAATTx

    You bet !

I will first have to work on it so would be as beautifull as yours ;-)

Dono if i'm going for std paint deco or get it home made ?

Make it simple but clean !

    I'll keep in touch. Cheers

  • @xMMAATTx

    Hi again !!!

Just got mine, came in great condition !!!

I'm not ready for crawing and i dont know what batteries to use.

I have bought a Orion Combo crawler vortex 70AMP brushless,

As mounting the beast, it seems to have little room. Kind of tight fitting is'nt it ?

Any advice to give please ?

    Cheers

  • @philippeclement

Hey! Yep it's very tight in there!!. I use a small 1100mAh 2 cell lipo or a 1400 mAh mini NiMH pack. I've remove the front chassis bar above the front axle (where the lights would mount) and mounted a battery plate on the front links.

My ESC and reciever mount on the plate where the driver would be.

You can see it in my other video - GMADE R1 mods 2.MOV

    Hope this makes some sense!!

    Have fun :-)

  • @xMMAATTx

Can you please tell me what you get in time performing wirh a lipo 1100mAh ?

That will help me get fixed with the choice.

    Many thankx !!!

  • @philippeclement

I think close to 30 mins with the 55t motor. Good idea to go lipo though for size and weight.

  • @xMMAATTx

    Hi, Here's my R1.

Just a short trial to check the braking at nuteral.

    /watch?v=_V5c_UADrbk

    I'll do more next time

  • looks like it needs a little more weight in the front tires. 3-5oz

  • @ForumDude154

Totaly right, I've got some new wheels coming in so it's on the list :-)

  • looks like it could use some DIG

  • @Bigbbiker

    On order ;-)

  • How does the Gmade do overall? Thinking about getting my first crawler Venom creeper or Gmade R1. Reply with suggestions. or reviews.

  • @mbair22

Check out the forums on rccrawler for some great info on both trucks.

  • What a great place to crawl! My fav r1 vid so far. Your "snipers" is that a breg off set, or maybe axial off set? That end part is awsome. Have ya thought/tried runnin stock rims in rear? Where is that land? So nice. Thanks for postin

  • @emilz10

    Hi,

    The snipers are axial offset.

The location is Sully in Wales, UK

    Glad you enjoyed it :-)
