Thanks alot for the instruction, bought the part for $98 and will be installing in when its a bit warmer out, dealer wanted $247 to do the job....thanks again,my mind is at rest now that i can get rid of that pesky Engine light.
Yes, this fixed my problem. Saved me a few hundred bucks too. Dealership price to replace this is too high to mention, Meineke said labor cost would be $100+ (2hrs) part about $195+. I ended up installing the part myself in less than 20 mins. There's no way around not going to the dealership for the part though, got the ECVS for about $75 after taxes at a local dealership. DIY guys...it'll save you some money.
Sorry it took me so long to respond everybody...the valve you have to buy at the dealer. You can buy it online through rockauto.com or another OEM parts website, but i went to the dealer. The valve was about $60...most dealers have a parts counter within the dealership...you just have to look :)
Hey man good video on this issue! I have had this issue with my 06 Impala for months now! Anyways just wanted to know if it fixed the problem and where did you purchase the valve from?
Where did you buy the part? Did it fix the problem? I am having the same symptoms that you mention at the beginning of the video with my 2006 Impala. A new gas cap did not fix the problem so I will probably try this.
@gealyneil just an update. I bought the part on ebay. It was AC Delco brand. I installed it about 3 weeks ago and it seems to have fixed the problem because the check engine light never came back on!
