you call this fast? I dont personally know the notes to this, but I've seen a lot of videos of this piece where they were absolutely flyin. this actually seems quite slow.
Cavaliers Drum Corp did this! Well at least their pit did, it was about this speed and more entertaining but good job! I never got to learn this like i wanted!
fucking idiot, whoever says its sped up and claims it is even if there is evidence, fucking just kill yourselves you piece of shits... begining of little melody before he plays was slow, while he played, it was still in the background being played at the same speed you fuckin morons don't just judge by how it looks and by your damn jealousy
I can learn something like this in a matter of minutes. Well, I could when I practiced. I have since went to college and have not worked out a deal with band director to use equipment yet.
@watermelonmck it takes minutes to learn this for the advanced players . For beginning players, it will take a long time. I suggest really getting your technique down by asking your band director or getting lessons. this will make it easier to play the piece and help with future pieces. It will take some time but eventually you can start to play this and then even harder stuff and soon you will be using 4 mallets. Don't get frustrated and keep trying!
Great job!!! If you play marimba you know how hard it is to play that fast and still hit all of the notes!
P.S. If you're having trouble getting a run, only aim for the very end of the accidental bars, and only bring your mallets up to a three inch or below. Many people will bash that technique, so I say to all of the opposers, look up Clinton High School Marching Band- Chronometry in late november, and you try playing those 16th note and tripplet 16th note runs going 180 in the center of the
This song is known for being fast. I play it with all the correct notes and a very good mallet placement, giving it correct pitch and sustain. What part of this is not musical?
@uberzj ignore LiDrummerBoy74. xD if he would search the song it would be the same. but anyway nice playing. wish i could learn how to play that. =/ keep it up.
@uberzj I did not say it wasnt musical, I just meant that this piece has turned into a competition. "Competitions are for horses not artists" - Bela Bartok. @smwExpert thats a pretty weak response. Wanna give a real argument as to why I am wrong rather than ad hominem attacks?
@uberzj everything you just said has almost nothing to do with being musical. that's just the technical aspects of playing a mallet instrument. its all a monotonous sound with no ups and downs. it has no feeling. but you did play it good lol but not musical.
This is less a piece for musical interest and more of an etude to showcase the player's ability. I do agree, though, that the whole competition in this piece is a bit ridiculous.
@getsuga97 Well, the piece was actually from Rimsky-Korsakov's opera Tale of Tsar Saltan. The challenge here is to get it up to a high speed while maintaining the musicality of it. @lolazo806 All I am saying is that the hard part is not the speed but the combination of speed and other aspects (dynamics, accents, fluidity of line). When I played this I found that the hardest part was not the notes, but keeping the intensity of the piece consistent throughout.
@getsuga97@lolazo806 (Cont'd) I think this video of it is well played. Good choice of mallets, steady tempo, fast but not out of control. @uberzj If you're interested in this piece, check out the xylophone arrangement by Torrebruno. It's an excellent arrangement of the full piece (about 2:00 long).
@uberzj Machinima is a popular video game channel. There is a game called Minecraft, very popular, and on the Machinima channel, there was a video of this song played on that game using "Note Blocks", which are a complicated thing to master, in my opinion. You probably will get some more views from it.
