  • Ya, and lots of mess ups too

  • its not even the full song and that is a little under tempo

  • @Rudy083

    It's at about 165 bpm.

  • nice

  • Awesome playing, but the kid in the background WHO WOULDN'T STOP PLAYING LONG ENOUGH FOR THIS TRUE ARTIST TO VIDEO TAPE is n inconsiderate A-hole!

  • That is standard tempo for this piece. Not as impressive as you made it out to be. Don't get high on yourself ...it's not that impressive.

  • The noise in the background is annoying.

  • the guy in the back was dressed like a bee lol coinsidence??

  • Its not that fast dude.

  • 0:18

    -Guy in the Back-

    *bong bong* "hah. Nailed it."

  • lmfao the guy in the bak was like uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh leme try that

  • My high school marching band played this song just as fast. Albeit they were playing alongside a soloist, but this isn't that fast.

  • David Garrett owns. You do not.

  • I think you may need to watch some other versions of FotBB for timeliness.

  • you call this fast? I dont personally know the notes to this, but I've seen a lot of videos of this piece where they were absolutely flyin. this actually seems quite slow.

  • The guy in the back! XDD

  • That's the fastest you can go ??........I'm wayyy faster..lol

  • couldn't you have told that kid in the back to shut the fuck up? lol very good though

  • lol at yellow jacket guy in the background at the end.

  • hey give me some notes

  • I'm watching the way that his shirt wrinkles... looks sped up :\

  • i love how the other guy playing just slows down when he's done. trolololololo

  • not nearly the fastest

    and watch those down strokes

  • lol you see the guy in the backround just like omg..... plays a couple of slow notes

  • it would of been better if that retard in the background wasnt there..

  • @uberzj In that vid, it was stevens grip you were using. (IM NOT TROLLING) Im just saying lol

  • Cavaliers Drum Corp did this! Well at least their pit did, it was about this speed and more entertaining but good job! I never got to learn this like i wanted!

  • It looked like you were in a class of people just learning how to play, you came in and played that, they're all just standing there like .0.

  • I missed it!

  • *feels like an idiot* i meant xylaphone... i know i spelt that wrong.. *headdesk* i'm just gonna go back to my timpanis now...

  • lol at the kid in the yellow jacket at the end: *sees amazing playing skills* O.O D: oh shit.. *tinkers on marimba*...

from one percussionist to another, fantastic job!

  • i play the WHOLE song about 3 times faster lol i have proof

  • its not fast.

  • I like the dude in the background

  • fucking idiot, whoever says its sped up and claims it is even if there is evidence, fucking just kill yourselves you piece of shits... begining of little melody before he plays was slow, while he played, it was still in the background being played at the same speed you fuckin morons don't just judge by how it looks and by your damn jealousy

  • u can tell he or she played it slower but they sped it up

  • ITS LIKE ONE BIG CHROMATIC SCALE!!!!!! =)

  • front fulcrum -_-

  • the bee died

  • Can you play 4 mallet on marimba?

and if you can, what grip do you use.

    Personally I like Burton's grip.

  • @MrTrojanXTC

Check out my video "El Toro".

I played with Burton a little but found it to be awkward. I use Steven's primarily.

  • Why you said that is fastest? Thats not fast for sure!

  • *backround guy* MIND FUCK!!

  • 1) This isn't the fastest

    2) You played a 15 second chunk out of something that's significantly longer

    3) Focus on technique before speed

  • @explodingpimp THANK YOU.

  • his mallets are ACTUALLY a blur!

  • Ok I can play it that fast too if I sped it up like you did

  • lol nice!!! im gonna see if my drummer can do that monday

  • Hi!! I am a 6th grader in Washington and I play percussion, and that is totally Ah-mazing!! How long did it take you to learn how to play that??

  • @watermelonmck

I can learn something like this in a matter of minutes. Well, I could when I practiced. I have since went to college and have not worked out a deal with band director to use equipment yet.

  • @watermelonmck it takes minutes to learn this for the advanced players . For beginning players, it will take a long time. I suggest really getting your technique down by asking your band director or getting lessons. this will make it easier to play the piece and help with future pieces. It will take some time but eventually you can start to play this and then even harder stuff and soon you will be using 4 mallets. Don't get frustrated and keep trying!

  • This isn't as fast as ComposerOfRequims. Just saying.

  • Tell your classmates to shut the fuck up for a minute.

  • Great job!!! If you play marimba you know how hard it is to play that fast and still hit all of the notes!

P.S. If you're having trouble getting a run, only aim for the very end of the accidental bars, and only bring your mallets up to a three inch or below. Many people will bash that technique, so I say to all of the opposers, look up Clinton High School Marching Band- Chronometry in late november, and you try playing those 16th note and tripplet 16th note runs going 180 in the center of the

  • not all that fast now, is it?

  • it is shit tonnes easier on marimba ... just sayin'

  • I've seen is that fast in person. The song is insane... (He had to do the whole thing, but it wasn't perfect)

  • Is that a low low C marimba? (I don't remember exactly what to call it.)

  • @NoahMAngott

Yeh, its the C below bass clef. It is a 5 octave marimba.

  • @uberzj Epic. Those things are really freaking expensive. Rosewood keys, right?

  • the person in the back is dressed like a bumblebee

  • o.o

     O

  • Gimme 4 hours and I can play that easily

  • The point isn't to be fast, the point is to be musical.

  • @LilDrummerBoy74

This song is known for being fast. I play it with all the correct notes and a very good mallet placement, giving it correct pitch and sustain. What part of this is not musical?

  • @uberzj ignore LiDrummerBoy74. xD if he would search the song it would be the same. but anyway nice playing. wish i could learn how to play that. =/ keep it up.

  • @uberzj You have no right to say "fastest" because I'm sure there is someone out there who is faster.

  • @uberzj I did not say it wasnt musical, I just meant that this piece has turned into a competition. "Competitions are for horses not artists" - Bela Bartok. @smwExpert thats a pretty weak response. Wanna give a real argument as to why I am wrong rather than ad hominem attacks?

  • @uberzj everything you just said has almost nothing to do with being musical. that's just the technical aspects of playing a mallet instrument. its all a monotonous sound with no ups and downs. it has no feeling. but you did play it good lol but not musical.

  • @LilDrummerBoy74 jesus you're stupid as hell

  • @LilDrummerBoy74

This is less a piece for musical interest and more of an etude to showcase the player's ability. I do agree, though, that the whole competition in this piece is a bit ridiculous.

  • @getsuga97 Well, the piece was actually from Rimsky-Korsakov's opera Tale of Tsar Saltan. The challenge here is to get it up to a high speed while maintaining the musicality of it. @lolazo806 All I am saying is that the hard part is not the speed but the combination of speed and other aspects (dynamics, accents, fluidity of line). When I played this I found that the hardest part was not the notes, but keeping the intensity of the piece consistent throughout.

  • @getsuga97 @lolazo806 (Cont'd) I think this video of it is well played. Good choice of mallets, steady tempo, fast but not out of control. @uberzj If you're interested in this piece, check out the xylophone arrangement by Torrebruno. It's an excellent arrangement of the full piece (about 2:00 long).

  • @LilDrummerBoy74 BULL SHIT LOL

  • noob

  • Holy shit the guy at the back made me crack up @ 0:17

  • Yeah, this definitely isn't sped up. They have some hardcore players in DCI that can play even faster than this. Not many mind you, but some.

  • Ok how is this sped up? He's just good at it

  • O_o

  • sweet

  • try the whole thing

  • @insanergamer

Sadly I no longer have access to a marimba on which to practice or to perform.

  • @insanergamer I like your name

  • Dude it sped up you noobz

  • oh never mind lol

  • looks fake no offence

  • @MuLtIRaNdOm456

You can watch the other videos I have of me, I am faster on the speed exercise.

  • that guy in the background is just "fuck this shit"

  • its funny the way you do that mad song, and then when you finish you see the kid in the background tapping his marimba :P

  • Hi

  • Who the fuck is doing that annoying marimba thin gin te backround?

  • This is about to get a lot of views thanks to machinima

  • @SmoshedJeff

I guess I don't know what that means.

  • @uberzj hahah hey, machinima's a HUGE youtube gaming channel, they posted a video that "relates" to this, so this video was in the top suggestion box

  • @uberzj Machinima is a popular video game channel. There is a game called Minecraft, very popular, and on the Machinima channel, there was a video of this song played on that game using "Note Blocks", which are a complicated thing to master, in my opinion. You probably will get some more views from it.

  • @Soyawannabeamasta

I am familiar with Minecraft, I have played it for a long time.

I am enjoying the extra views though.

  • awesome, I can play faster though

  • haha the guy in the back is mindfucked.

  • @10OchrisO01

He is one of our Snare Drummers.

  • its not that fast. lol

  • @vusa69 yes it is.
