@Mercy, personally I wouldnt care about your corn rows as much as I would your attitude and how comfortable you made me feel when I came seeking help in a sick or injured state.

@Dilxosh1 Do a search for the CMA/RMA. From what I understand you do not have to have gone to school to take the the exams. I believe it is 5 years work experience? Schools vary in what they offer. Try web searches for the two. also look to your part of the country. Some prefer one or the other. Some jobs will also hire but may require your certification/registration within a few months of being hired. Hope that helps

@IxMERCYxl stop playing the race card. If you want the job you need to have the ability (exp) first and foremost second, you must also understand that most medical opportunities lean toward conservative appearance's. If I had facial piercings as well as visible tattoo's with a spiked red and black mo hawk as a white male, CMA, the first or second person your going to see or heck just the mo hawk, in your doctor office visit, just how comfortable would you feel when I had to draw your blood?

wow!! this is surprising me. I went to Trillium College in St. Catharines, all we studied was, terminology, transcription, word process, excel, clinical procedures l and typing, they did not teach us to do blood tests or vital signs. :( I wonder if that is all you need to take to be a medical assistant???? i need information if what i learned at school will help me find a job or not especially since we did not take any course that do with vital signs..????

Now i just wanna know if i were to work here would i have to cut my cornrows off in order to get the job cause i know this is pretty much the white man world so theres probably a 70% chance of me not getting the job cause of my cornrows a 20% chance of me not getting the job cause im Black and only 10% of me getting the job cause my background is clean and i speak very well..... P.S i am Black
