Magic the Gathering is ruined, every edition is more poor, they kill the fantastic thought it has, the free thinking of painters, they kill the rules to make it easy for selling to childs, 12 year old that doesnt want any surprise, because they can't lose, poll were made and this is the answer, a ruined game, a poll and look, all the character, paintings of the game become hollywood blockbuster idiot movie, superheroes, yughioh, all this for money to pay bit*ces. Garfield is embittered.

@magictgshit Making rules easier to follow is a bad thing? In the past, unclear rules have been a huge problem for mtg. Nothing kills a game like an argument over rules. Rules should be clear and definitive. So clear that a twelve year old should be able to understand them.

Thanks, but I'd also need and address if I am to go with the whole "punch in the throat" plan....then again, visas for the States can be damn hard to get too...especially if the reason for your travel is causing bodily harm to someone.

is it true you can only use the 3 most recents sets in a tournament?

@524cg In standard its the 2 most current "blocks" (each block consist of 3 sets) and the current "core set"

As of right now in standard you can use M11 and M12 core sets. Zendikar block (which is 3 sets) and Mirrodin block (which are 3 sets) (scars of mirrodin, mirrodin besieged, and new phyrexia) In october, and new block will start (the first set of a new 3 set block releases) and you wont be able to use the zendikar block or M11 anymore.

@frenchizedboi Well I did not know that Stark invented CAW-blade, and I suppose I'm just pissed about everyone in my area playing it. And I personally do NOT like the flavor of the other deck, I think its just a little bland, which in my opinion, it is. When I play Magic, I like big plays and crazy combos, with more complex interactions between cards. That might not be possible in a tournament environment unless both players were using such a concept. I just hope CAW-blade fades away soon.

Both of these decks are so simple and boring, and very unoriginal. Just Super-Friends and Landfall. Jeez, couldn't they make up original deck ideas?

@dtrip09 Yeah, both are custom decks using a concept that they are built around. One has a Super-Friends or CAW-blade theme, which is centered around using Stoneforge Mystic to search up equipment, usually a Sword, Sylvok Lifestaff, or Mortarpod, and then attaching the equipment to cheap creatures like Squadron Hawks. They also almost always have JTMS in their deck. The other deck is a simple aggro-beatdown deck using landfall to create uncounterable buffs.

Pardon my ignorance of the rules but how could the Stoneforge Mystic die as a blocker AND activate its ability to put the sword into play?

I thought the (relatively) recent rule changes made that illegal

@blurb11 Thats a common misconception. What was removed was damage going on the stack. You still get to play spells and abilities after the declaration of blockers.

Before: Declare blockers, players receive priority, combat goes on stack, receive priority, resolve damage

Now: Declare blockers, priority, damage

Theres still way too many ******* on MWS who say "you cant do that, read rules, noob. *quit*" Sigh.
