It is far more harmful than cigarette smoke, since weed is never "pure", they always put some tobacco in to enrich it. Continuous use results in slowness and loss of short-term memory.

It's effects are far worse than that of the alcohol, you could get into serious trouble while you are high.

The people bringing up the argument of Shisha. In ancient days, they had no clear revelation of what prolonged use of tobacco could do. Now that they DO know, it would be a sin to claim it's still okay.

In most old houses, they used lead paint, because they didn't know the damage it could do.

To use lead paint in houses now, KNOWING it can possibly kill someone, is a sin.

When no one knew the dangers of smoking, it was probably permissible, halaal.

Now we know it kills, so it's bad.

Buy a patch or gum, it is how my mother quit (alhumdililah) and pray on it! Allah forbid you ever get a terminal illness from smoking, but it does happen ='(

Pope Urban VII's 13 day papal reign included the world's first known public smoking ban in 1590. Never the less the point I'm making is we just should not smoke ok? Dalil on smoking can be found in Al Baqarah - "and make not your hands contribute to (your) destruction;but do good;for Allah loveth those who do good" verse 195

It does not mention tobbaco .... hence it is controversial what meaning you derive from it ..... Al Baqarah clearly states about gambling and alcohol .... by name ..... thats a direct order, specifically on specific things. One might think from the ayah you are referring that it is about suicide or to abstain from fitna .... and I was not asking for Dalil but proof. Anyway, I do not advocate for smoking ... but just for the record.
