Hold on. First, this coalition is already crumbling because it was not properly organized and their leader lacks support and the capacity to govern. Mr. Dion is doing this for his own sake, not ours. The others are doing this to further a sepratist agenda or unpractical left-wing ideas. Second, Mr. Harper is not an enemy of the people. He has made progress and can make more when Obama is in office. The Liberals know the coalition was a bad idea. Please, look it up. Mr. Harper is a good guy.
"A Liberal MP hinted Thursday that a Grit-NDP coalition to bring down the government might not last into the New Year, following the announcement that Parliament had been suspended until January.
"I cannot see it holding together," Liberal MP Jim Karygiannis told CTV's Rosemary Thompson.
Nobody can say this coaltion is democratic. Stephan Dion recieved an overwhelming lack of support, yet he wants to steal the position of Prime Minister from the guy who was actually elected. Mr. Dion thinks he knows better than Canadians who took the time to vote. I respect everybody's views, so please don't send any crazy messages my way. I just think that these three guys are not right for Canada and should not create political turmoil during a financial crisis.
I'd prefer a communist over a Nazi anyday. Harper is the US imperialist hand in Canada, he wants the economy to fall so the North American Union can be formed. Open your eyes poor Canadians. Stop watching corporate media you sheep.
Ok Sarah Palin, we should all listen to your analogy of politics.
My point is if you and your liberal cronies what Dion as PM, fine take it to a vote.
I like you want my constitutional rights upheld to cast a ballot.
Dion would lose even worse than last time, you see most people are not as against the Liberals as much are they are against Dion himself and the tactics he is using.
You should be arested, the majorit voted against Conservative right wind plutocracy. You're just too ignorant to face the fact thaat you're wrong about conservatives....maybe somone you love is a conservative... pooor you.
Are you saying there are only two parties? Conservatives and everybody else? If you add up all the other paries and compare them to the seats of the Liberals, the majority did not vote for the Liberals, either. These clowns don't care that Harper won the election fair and square and that Canada voted for him. The Conservatives are more central than right wing, by the way. Look it up. I didn't vote Conservative last time, but I don't support Mr. Dion's power grab.
Yes he won the election. But the system of coalition government exists for this reason. If these three parties, some of which have VERY different views, can unite against a common enemy, you can bet that that enemy is truly a problem.
Also, Jean Chretien ensured a Liberal who shared his own ideas was elected, even though it should have been Mr.Ignatieff or Mr. Rae. We would probably have our second Liberal majority if they had supported Mr. Martin, who I believe would have been a wonderful Prime Minister. They need to clean themselves up before they can expect more support. They are not ready to govern now, but they might be able to someday. For now, this coalition is ridiculous.
In your mind Canada is a two party system: those who voted for their Conservative MPs, and everyone else.
If you want such a two-party system, move to the US. Otherwise, come back to reality! The only way that the liberal elites can seize control on the hill is by aligning themselves with the Bloque Quebecois, whom you clearly don't agree with!!
