  • Мы знаем, как работать с аутизмом. СПб. Психологический Центр "Седьмое измерение".

  • This is perfectly normal behavior for a 2 year old, she even made a baby-talk noise which a child with autism would not. however we are also looking at this out of context, so may I ask, when does she usually do this? if there is a pattern then it is probably her way of calming herself after a traumatic (to her) event, if not then it's just her being a girl.

  • WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PPL.. YOU DONT KNOW IF THE CHILD HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH ATISUM AND U POST UR NEG COMMENTS.. NO ONE SAID THAT JUST BC YOUR CHILD SPIN AROUND THAT THEY HAS AUTISM.. ITS ONE OF MANY SYMPTOMS.. IF U CANT BE POSITIVE WITH UR POSTINGS U SHOULD NOT POST NOTHING AT ALL... THE PARENTS AND FAMILY HAS ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH .. THEY DON'T NEED TO HEAR UR NEG COMMENTS.. AND I HOPE UR NOT A PARENT THAT NEVER HAD THEIR CHILD TESTED TO SEE IF UR DOCTORIN IN THE MEDICAL FIELD IS CORRECT.

  • I have made a video for my nephew, who also has autism and spins everything around; youtube.com/watch?v=p_j0e4eDsJc&NR=1

  • i used to spin when i was little, i liked how when i stopped, everything kept spinning for a moment, then i'd do it again... not autistic tho, just FUN! try it!!!

  • Cell phones emit RF's at levels that were known to be high to be safe b4 they became widespread . Motorola realized this and had cell & portable phones exempted from the RF safety protocol. There is very strong evidence that RF's cause Autism, this rise in Autism also correlates with the use of cell & portable phones. Research shows fetus' of mice and monkeys developing brain damage and other serious damage to their DNA. Check out Associated Bioelectomagnetic org or emfbioeffects org.

  • @iwin4u2 "There is very strong evidence that RF's cause Autism" - no there isnt. "strong evidence" is a very strong claim. The links have been tenuous at best. This does not mean that cells phones dont cause ASDs, but it does mean that there is a lack of current research that demonstrates this.

Don't believe everything you read on random webpages and try and be cautious when making such serious claims in a public forum.

  • Um this doesn't mean she has Autism

she is just being a little kid!!

GOD I hate when people all of a sudden

say their child has something wrong with them

just because they are doing strange things!!

Obviously you don't know what normal lil kids do!!!

  • My granddaughter who lives with me is 11 and was diagnosed with the same thing at age 8. We tried several different meds for the ADHD and finally found concerta did not give her side effects. She is super smart, too smart for her age, but has learning disabilities. Social skills are very bad with aspergers.

  • I STILL do that! Cute baby btw.

  • my daughter loves to spin around

  • Love those chubby cheeks, such a doll!

  • I think people need to be more careful with the examples of autism they post. My son LOVES to spin things and loves to spin himself. He is no where near autistic!

  • All children will display a sign or two of autism at some point, does not mean they are autistic however. To meet the criteria for an ASD diagnosis, MANY signs must be present.

  • @kkrud Has a pediatric neurologist told you so? I'm just asking nicely. A lot of pediatricians will overlook kids who have autism. You'd be surprised even ppl whom you think would know autism don't.

  • @kkrud I'm 25 and not autistic and I love spinning round. Who wouldn't! It's like a do it yourself roller-coaster feeling.

  • HI! Ur daughter is beautiful. My son was diagnosed with PDD-NOS another way of saying autism. He will be 4yrs old in 2 months and has improved so so much. Do u think vaccination had anything to do with ur daughters autism?

  • That's why these videos are so valuable - it is so easy to miss the signs and dismiss them as 'normal' behaviour. Thanks for the video, your daughter is beautiful.

  • ummm my almost 2 year old babygirl does them kinda things and she is nothing close to autistic...

  • ur right im sure the child has been diagnosed as her mum sems smart but all kids do odd things and arent autistic i used to sit and eat rice krispies one by one if i was a baby today id be in a program r something

  • good for her. unfortunately, Jade is, but she is now 5, and getting sooo much better thanks to IVIG!!!!

  • I'm having a hard time right now My 5 year old son was recently tested for possible Asperger's Syndrome and I was surprised to find out that he was not diagnosed AS

He exhibits behaviours such as "stimming", anti-social behaviour, and repetition with some things His teacher says he's "different" and "in his own world" a lot in class, however he's up to par with his classmates in work What should I do, I look at the babies on the video and I see similarities with my son!

  • There must be a new drug on the market for autism. Before this is was ADD. Before that bi-polarism. Before that it was aliens and probes.

  • wish there was a drug for it, unfortunately there is not. There is a reason that in 1990 only 1/2,000 children had autism, and 1/150 children do today. The # of vaccines babies today get has tripled since 1990.

  • Vaccines yes, though I don't think that is the root cause. I believe it is a multitude of all things chemical. Pollution is outrageous, global warming has mirrored the increased rate of Autism & related disorders. The word is trying to wearn us that we are placing our human race in danger of extinction.

  • Money and industry rules the world..not much good if kill ourselves to have it all. processed foods are all many can afford because fresh foods are too expensive, gums are made of plastic, its a sad state we live in and our future generations are paying the price!

  • this is only 1 sign, and all kids show a sign or two of autism. However, if a child shows a large number of these behaviors, and they significantly impact their lives, they may be diagnosed with autism.

Entitlement? Since the US of A mandates the vaccines that are causing autism, they are responsible for treating it.

Autistic children have genetic immunodeficiencies, and shouldn't have certain vaccines, and many have had serious reactions to the MMR, right before regressing.

  • There is no evidence at all that vaccines cause autism.

  • really? it doesn't seem at all cioncidental to you that the very condition (immunodeficiency) that contraindicates one to vaccination, is now being found in genetic studies of the autistic?

JustinFromSydney, you have some studying to do...

  • What are you talking about?

  • she is right justin.. You can carry the gene and not show severe signs of autism. covalescent (live) vaccines can send a child's immune system in a whirl. Some vaccines can activate an autoimmune response to them like the mmr, very common for regressive pdd; Usually when the baby gets their well check up at 18 mths. Even government officials admitted that it triggers autism/ reverses development. An onslaught of viruses from cow's milk, live vaccines, and cold sicknesses.

  • @aware4autism I appreciate this very personal post, but your comments implying a causative link between vaccination and ASDs is not only unfounded and misinformed, but potentially dangerous. Your attempt at quoting basic immunology and genetic studies is misinformed and the reasoning is flawed.

  • @tomrw54 actually it is not unfounded. Perhaps you would like me to send you some links to a few studies? My daughter was born with genetic immunodeficiency, (a contraindicated condition according to the MMR package insert), and she suffered encephalitis from the severe adverse reaction to this and the Varicella vaccines. She was ultimately diagnosed with regressive autism, and now receives IVIG to treat her immunodeficiency, and has made incredible progress!

  • @tomrw54 Studies now prove kids with asd have genetic markers for immunodeficiency.

Check out research from UC Davis Irvine Dept of immunology, UC Davis MIND center.

Search for "IOM presentation" "autism, Vaccines, and immune reactions" by Vijendra K. Singh, Ph.D.- it gives a very accurate description of what happened to Jade, and is an easy read.

It wasn't just the vaccines, it was any illness causing inflammation, but the adverse reaction did affect her the most

  • @aware4autism Singh's work (I'm referring to his actual published studies, not presentations) do not demonstrate causation. There is no evidence to suggest the vaccine 'causes' the autism. Your previous post tried to make a link between genetic immunodeficiency and autoimmunity and there simply isnt evidence for it.

  • @tomrw54 it's not vaccines it's pesticides, synthetic pesticides were widly used when autism increased( 1930's) around when vaccines were also popular. Sorry but neurotoxins are more likely a problem then vaccines..............

  • @wanttoseemysnake I would agree that is more likely. There are many persistent ones that we have been increasingly exposed to. I cannot recall of the top of my head any studies that have been done into this, but I know it is being looked into more.

  • wow... spinning.. i remember spinning a lot as a kid!.. dont think im autistic.. or am i?

  • all kids show a sign or two of autism at one time or another. Reds flags should be raised when a child shows MULTIPLE signs of autism.

  • Funny, because I don't think what these families are saying about autism is specific to "spinning beads." It is, rather, the repetitive play.

  • lots of questions: When did she start speaking...if she did at all? My grandaughter is in the procss of being tested for speech issues and hearing problems, she is almost three and she only speaks in one to two word sentences, and the words she does use are basically Kirston speak, if you know what I mean. She also refuses to make eye contact with anyone outside the family...she hides her eyes when she goes to church. She also spins, and she has fits and screams that could peel paint...

  • Jade was about 30 months when she started to say a few words. Autism is a spectrum disorder and ranges in severity, from severe, to mild, and no two autistic children are alike.

  • how was she diagnosed? did they do a scan of her brain? did they look at how the neurons fired?

or did they just look at her spinning?

  • they use tools such as the MCHAT, and ADOS. Spinning is simply one sign of autism. It is a self stimulatory behavior.

Currently there is no medical detection for autism. The diagnosis is made by observation alone. Jade has had a second, and even third opinion, which all concurred the same dx, severe autism.

  • Luckily, since she had early intervention, she (at age 4) is now able to string a few words together, and recently has begun using a couple simple sentences, ie; "I want banana, please" and "I love watermelon".

Doctors once said she may never talk- but she is!

  • that's great!

  • my sister is autistic

  • By the way, your daughter is absolutely adorable! And Jade has very good eye contact for an autistic child. :)

    ~Jennie

  • We wouldn't consider the mental medication thing. We did treat Jade's immunodeficiency early on, and that helped her make significant progress, physically, socially and cognitively.

  • psych meds are overprescribed, and dangerous to developing brains.

  • aware4autism,

While psych meds can sometimes be dangerous to developing brains, some can also drastically improve the quality of life for many children. For example, I have been on psych meds since age 12 for severe obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety disorders, and they really helped my quality of life tremendously. Just so you know, I'm not saying anything about autism (nor do I know if they even treat that with meds), but these types of broad statements can be misleading.

    ~Jennie

  • yes, they can be very helpful to the few that actually need them. Sadly, I have met some children with ASD that are on 6-7 various medications, ranging from ant-anxiety meds, antidepressants, antipschyotics, anticonvulsants, sleep medications, etc. These are children younger than 10! Mostly, they are treating side effects with additional medication! The only approved drug for autism, is Risperdal, which is only FDA approved to treat aggression in autistic individuals.

  • Can one really define "normal"?? Each human has a uniqueness all their own.

Jade is extremely smart, was reading at 2, and typing at 3. Jade is also autistic, and has severe communication problems. She has come a long way from when she was diagnosed as severely autistic at 22 months. We are very thankful she received early intervention, and may possibly be classified as Asperger's later in life.

  • Wow! Reading at two and typing at three? Jade is so smart! She's gonna be unstoppable at reaching her goals in life! :)

    ~Jennie

  • very cute daughter, glad shes doing well! i bet she is a little genius, she has a very bright future ahead of her! ~miss kayler~

  • Use PECS for her little picture to help her comunicate i took photos and made my daughter some on the computer by resizing and then printing it out and the put velcro on the back. She has a little folder to take out that can fit in a hand bag and a wall chart at home for her PECS.

    Your daughter is lovely =0)

  • she's *so* cute. what kind of therapies are you getting her into as she ages?

  • ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

  • no, and considering how much autism has increased (1 in every 2,500 children in 1990- 1 in every 150 children today), parents need to know the early signs, so they can provide early intervention. Jade has a future, had we done nothing, her futire would have been bleak.

  • I have started training service dogs for children with Autism. I find that you tube is a great place to ask questions or just read comments. What is your biggest challenge with Jade now?

  • Jade is doing wonderfully in all areas now! The only challenge she faces is communication. Her speech is mostly echolalic, and it is frustrating for her when she cannot tell others what she needs/ wants/ feels.

  • Have you (or anyone) tried Sign Language? Or a combination of sign and verbal at the same time?

  • It's not really that Jade can't talk that well "youyou2btoo", it's that she can't communicate that well at all. Much when I was a young little boy (I have Autism)

  • Ahh she's so cute! I had toys just like that as a child (and did the spining too lol). I miss them, so much fun!

  • Ok thanks.

  • quick question, I dont spin around (alot anyway) but I spin objects and such (coins, rings, small pocket stuff). But my question is, I am very fidigity as in I can never sit still for a long period time, and when I have to wait or something I kinda tap my fingers together and stuff, is that a possible sign of autism?

  • Yes, that could be, but it could also be a sign of being human, LoL. Check out thegeeksyndromeDOTcom there is a test for Asperger's there. It may help shed light on this for you.

  • i can't find anything about a test, please explain further

  • Sounds more like ADHD. My youngest daughter had it and still does. She is 32 with 2 children. She has held jobs and a very prized employee every where she worked. She just has to have something to do with her hands when just sitting.

  • Were you aware about her autism at this time period?

Super cute girl by the way.

  • I had found the MCHAT online 5 days prior to this. I was still learning some of the signs. I always thought the spinning was odd, before I knew about autism. Thank you!

  • wow. It is like seeing a video of Colin's twin or something. I love Jade, she is sooo cute. And she has taught me so much. :o)
