@mercs200 cvd came with the motherboard. if it doesn't go to the manufacturer of the motherboards website and get the files there... aka Asus motherboard, goto Asus website.

I dont know how this would "fix" anything. as a PC tech for 20 years, They should have been installed right after your operating system is installed.

yes Windows sometimes automaticaly use's it own driver, and its fine sometimes, but its not the one that came for that specific ethernet adapter... :-\

@1djrichie nothing if you have a different motherboard then him.. might get worst and not recognise it at all.. though you can always undo it by "roll back drivers" option

damn im trying to install a d-link dwl510 wlan pci card into windows7 64bit ultimate, wont work with the cd driver that came with it, i also tried downloading a driver from a nother pc and then transferring it with a usb, didnt work

KICK ASS! I found the solution. if you are installing windows 7 on an old computer, you must run the driver update .exe files in windows XP service pack 2 compatibility mode. download your chipset drivers and run the in winXP sp2 compatibility. right click> properties> compatability> check: run this program in compatibility mode mode for> Choose: Windows XP service pack 2.

it should then install in windows 7.

have to make a note here... if your having problems with drivers and win7; make sure your pc/laptop supports vista... i can nearly guarantee that if there's support for vista you can get drivers for it...

go google your manufactures website for vista drivers. That's my top tip

... btw found out my video card (on board) doesn't support vista/7 but the new one i bought does!

I've installed 7 on a Gigabyte GA-7S741M the onboard Realtek Chipset RTL8201CL has built-in drivers only for XP, they are hardcoded to the device. I put in a RTL8139D pci card and it works. Also works when you have a usb modem, usb ethernet card.

Hi do you have a link where you DL your internet drivers from? So once you DL them you can burn to disc or runoff a flash drive? Im using a friends PC to fix my internet. Thanks in advance
