tahhasafdar my brother and both got chickenpox but I got scarring where he didn't. My brother was reduced to his bed for two weeks I just had a bad headache and pain all over my body. I was covered in scars afterwards but its been two years and most of them have gone except for a few on my arms so I would say they don't last for life.

tahhasafdar my brother and both got chickenpox but I got scarring where he didn't. My brother was reduced to his bed for two weeks I just had a bad headache and pain all over my body. I was covered in scars afterwards but its been two years and most of them have gone except for a few on my arms so I would say they don't last for life.

It's true and Cortez wasn't the only one. During the colonial expansion of America, Colonial soldiers would wrap the dead victims of small pox in blankets and then give those blankets as gifts to the Native tribes across the Appalician Mountains. Many tribes were completely wipped out since none had been exposed to the pox before.

I've heard that alot of bad diseases came from farm animals. You round up alot of animals and keep them in shitty, unhealthy conditions. You just made a massive play ground for virus & bacteria ! Native Americans grew veggies and hunted for there meat (no farm animals). That's why they didn't have any nasty diseases to give to the dirty Europeans.

Europeans lived in cities of thousands and even hundreds of thousands with dirty drinking water, unsanitary sewage disposal, and poor medicine which allowed for an increase in disease rates. Native Americans lived in relatively small settlements and seldom had epidemics.

Mexico was made of over a hundred tribes other than the azteks before the Spaniards came mayan, myshtek, apache.. the list goes on. The fact that they had made enemies with all of their neighbors did not help this.... If you think about it in modern standards consider what would happen if a musket toting army went up against a modern platoon armed w/ assault rifles, grenade launchers, and heavy machine guns. Well, what gets me is the fact that he's going around claiming that vaccines don't work, FFS. So someone might see this, develop a fear of vaccines, and get bit by a rabid dog or something and not get a vaccination because of it.
This would also contribute to a fear of vaccinations in a public health emergency requiring ring vaccinations. Imagine if you dodged vaccination, caught smallpox, and brought smallpox home to your wife, mother and children. Reality check please.

Ring vaccinations are the only defense against viral diseases. Novel agents such as bavituximab have shown great promise against viral hemorrhagic fever but they have not yet come to market. Until they do, vaccinations are the only possible protection.
