The people/'anarchists' participating in these kind of tactics are a very small number and denounced by OWS. Though I agree with one of the main tenets of anarchism, i.e, always question the legitimacy of whatever is in power/position of authority, whether it be an institution or person, that doesn't include acting out violently even if just petty-criminal acts. It just promotes the caricaturized version of anarchy. Burning flags, etc., is just not a good/wise tactic, though is free to express.

Califorina is a mess, after you people have distroyed your own economy don't ask the rest of the nation to bail you out, you all helped to cause your own demise with all your liberal policies and PC stupidity, now you have to deal with all these worthless OWS leeches, soon they'll be burning your cities to the ground and crushing any recovery you might have had, this is a monster that your liberal eduction system created, now you'll have to deal with these vermin but they are going to eat you.

@MrReleasethehoundz The peaceful message is always lost if it's over taken by violence, that's why it must remain peaceful. As far as OWS goes, violence hasn't taken over by any means, except by the police. It's become expected even by the police. If violence is committed by OWS protesters, even if provoked, it needs to be stopped and immediately protested against by other OWS protesters. So I appreciate your message. Make sure any violent actions aren't by saboteurs, too, though, as well.

@munderlarkst I certainly hope the protesters are successful with their cause and getting the message out. The violence is pointless. A key thing I would like to point out is that I get very upset when I see a non-violent protester get hurt by police and my guess is that most of our society does as well. Unite, keep strong and never lift your hand. One thing Gandhi used to tell his fellow protesters was to keep peaceful. When peaceful protesters were massacred the country erupted. \\// PEACE

As always, ONE THING TO WATCH OUT FOR are NON-OWS people trying to sabotage the movement by acting out violently or by staging antics such as burning flags, etc., while posing as actual OWS protesters. It's a standard tactic when trying and sabotage any movement.

Also, real OWS protesters have to not let themselves be provoked by police into acting out violently. That's what the police want. They know how to respond to people 'breaking windows', but not to people peacefully protesting.

It sort of reminds me of when workers in Argentina expropriated the buildings in which they were working to keep it going when it was going to be closed down and all of them would have been jobless. In this case the building is completely empty and being used, trying to be used, for a good cause by OWS protesters. I'm more sympathetic to their peaceful action and cause.

@jonnyozzy1 Thanks. I know anarchism is a complicated subject. I think of it as being a system where authority -- whether from a person or a system -- has to be justified. If it is, fine. For example, it's justified/justifiable that the 'authoritative' parent has to teach their kids not to run into the street. Extrapolate that out, et al.
