Protecting innocent life is not moral obligation not a political option. Self-defense is not a privilege granted by the state, but a God given right. I would think that if you are following a Saint you would also follow the Church. Check out the catechism.

McCain is against torture and Obama will not be closing Gitmo for a year. That does not seem to square with your position.

Voting is a moral choice, the Church has a right to offer guidance. Democrats have no pro-life candidates because they don't want them. The responsibility for that problem falls squarely on the voter.

What if you voted for John McCain because he WOULD keep torture prisons open as where Obama with his conscience would not. Wouldn't voting for John McCain for those reasons also be a mortal sin? The answer is YES!

When you come out for a canidate as you have your diocese should not recieve the tax break given to non political non profit organizations. Please go ahead and fill out your forms and give the taxes you owe back to the government.

I am very, very much against abortion. BUT, it is the sanctity of all life. All life; this means no war, no death penalty, and no "right to bare arms" either. This is why I like to call myself an anarchist. Or as John Bosco put it: "In politics, I side with no one." You know what would change things: if the mother could hear the child beg for its life. I wonder if there is a way to do that without any genetic manipulation? I have to look into it.
