my trucks exhaust is cut off at the y pipe right now. i wish i could take it on the street like that but its just a little loud. time for glasspacks with turndowns for me :)
you guys should hear my 87 vette i just got headers going to about 6 inches of pipe and thats it for now that thing sounds awesome great for annoying the folks on the block :)
I have a automatic '98 5.7 V8 that gets 20mpg. Its really easy, Take the cover off the filter box and get a high flow filter, Like K&N. Makes a world of difference,
I've got a full size 93' Blazer sport with the TBI 350 all stock n mu cat n muffler are still on it but everything is broke off from behind the muffler on n when u turn the air cleaner lid over it sounds like a fuckin beast!!!
The automatic gets from 13 to 17. Just depends on the truck. I've got a '95 with a 350 and get about 13.5 my uncle gets about 18 and he's got manual. Cousin gets about the same as my uncle. All within 3 years of each other. All 350's.
@Dansz71sierra I have a 90' chevy with 4" lift (2"susp, and 2" body) and 305/70/16 and i dont rub, it looks nice how they fill up your wheel wells though.
@kylekrauskopf I had a 1990 4X4 with the 350 engine, 4 speed tranny and it got about 17 MPG with stock tires. I miss it. My 2001 2500HD with the 496 only gets me about 10 MPG!!!
i have a 1989 chevy k1500 with the TBI 350 and i did the same thing because i replaced the entire exhaust and it was loud when i had the y-pipe still on there i cant imagine what it would sound like without it
Dude it is insanely loud, I have a video too of open headers (on my 1995 Chevy K1500 tbi 350), I'm pretty sure this guy still has the stock manifold from how it sounds.

kylekrauskopf 2 years ago
i usually average around 16mpg, thats with a 4" lift, 33" tires and stock 3.42 gears.
kmartin69 2 years ago
Wow, I have the same truck with no lift, stock tires, and only did a little exhaust work. But, I only get about 14mpg. My mileage is terrible!
zlink8 2 years ago
@kmartin69 4 inch lift with 33s do the tires fill up the wheel wells nicely or leave big gaps? and any rubbing?

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Man you should put a muffler or run just a high flow cat/ because with nothing it sounds like a pile of junk, plus you burn the valves.
