  • the macbook aluminium realesed on my birthday. 14 October.

  • look up lockerz (dot) com on youtube and see how u can get this laptop for free. send me a pm for a invite

  • do we really need more 100 unboxing video's for a mac, just make one, that is universal and cannot be redone anywhere, I'm fine with actually reviewing the thing, but do we really need to see thousands of video's of any product being taken out of a box as a legitimate review

  • great video!

  • i got mine in Christmas

    its a great laptop!!!!!

  • sweet!

  • that is my dream comp, ur lucky!!

  • This is my dream too.

  • my dream also

  • i cant wait to get mine... i have my exams in about a month then i have to wait until august to get my hands on one of these babies. YAY! i'm going for 2.4ghz, 320GB HDD and 4gb ram. I'M GOING FOR THE WHOLE PACKAGE BABYYY. what are ur specs?

  • ok...so u posted this a month ago hoping to get the macbook on christmas?? what kind of christmas is that??!

  • the new macbook graphic card, are they better then the old MACBOOK PRO graphic card.

    plz reply

  • you're going to get comparable (or slightly better) performance with the new Nvidia 9400M when comparing it to the 256MB Nvidia graphics cards that shipped with the old MacBook Pro's... based on what I've read, performance is also said to come fairly close to what you'd get out of the old 512MB cards in the last MacBook Pro revision (something like 60-80%- pretty impressive for a 256MB integrated chip).

  • ohh yahh what size macbook?

  • All "Macbooks" are 13.3 inches, or something very close.

Macbook Pros can be 15 or 17

  • woow i didnt even know normal macbooks come with 2.4ghz nice how is it?

  • Its the new one which now comes with 2.4 GhZ and its Aluminum =P

  • is there a difference between the macbook pro screen and the macbook screen...I heard the macbook is of lesser quality but I can't really tell from these video's I should check em out...and yes, I've watch so many unboxing videos :( I'm hoping by some miracle to get the macbook pro (2500, eesh).

  • I've spent some time using the aluminum MacBook Pro's, and I can say that I couldn't tell any difference between the two... now, if you were to compare an old MacBook to the new aluminum notebooks, then yes, the screen quality isn't going to be nearly as good.

  • So is yours the 1,200 or the 1,500, and hows it been since October, any problems?

  • if you mean the price, it was $1499+tax (the 2.4GHz version)... and I've had 0 problems with it so far, I really couldn't be happier with it!

  • unboxing videos are surprisingly very addicting. but i am ordering my new macbook in two or three days.

  • haha, I know what you mean, especially when it comes to Apple products... good luck with your MacBook!

  • aren't you supossed to charge it for a few hours before you actually turn it on?

  • yes, technically it's supposed to be plugged in when you first turn it on... I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary since I unboxed it, though.

  • a lot of people are saying that they have problems with the track pad. Do you have the same issue? If your going to college for international communications or if your going to college for law, do you think a mac is good for you?

  • actually, I have yet to have any hardware issues with it, everything has far exceeded my expectations so far... and unfortunately I'm not familiar with the course sequence(s) of those majors, but I'd venture to say that a Mac would be a perfect computer for any college student (and in the event that you have to use any Windows-based apps- just install Windows via Boot Camp).

as a suggestion- you'd probably want to go the MacBook route so you can take your work on the go if necessary...

  • when do u think its a good time to upgrade? Didn't you upgrade yours?

  • so far I've only upgraded my iMac (from 2 - 4GB), but there's a good chance I'll eventually upgrade my MacBook as well... it really comes down to your needs and whether you've got the budget for an upgrade. as of right now, 2GB suits me just fine, and DDR3 is still significantly more expensive than the mid-range DDR2 you'll find in most notebooks today, so I'd suggest waiting until prices come down at least 25% (you'll pay roughly $130+tax for a 4GB DDR3 upgrade kit at the moment).

  • I get mine tomorrow!

  • its great but there is no firewire. awesome review.

  • true, but not being a Firewire user myself, I can't really hold that against it... thanks for the comment!

  • Helpful review. I just got mines 3 days ago. It's awesome. It would be more awesome when the ram is upgraded to 4gb.

  • good to know, sounds like yours is working out about the same as mine... and I'm sure the additional 2GB RAM would improve performance if you were using it as a primary computer, but since I'm using mine mostly for word processing/notes/occasional video+audio editing, I really don't need the extra memory (yet :)).

    thanks for the comment!

  • Yea..I have to use CS3 and all of FCS2. And since I'm always on the road, I need it to process fast or else i'll dump coffee on it. Hahaha. Anywho, do you think I will need to buy a keyboard/palm rest protector, cuz my hands tend to get sweaty sometimes. Unlike my black mac, that thing is cursed with human biological imprints.

  • you may want to consider it, though so far I haven't had any problems with fingerprinting or other marks... that's entirely your call.

  • Hey Mate. You are a good looking guy, yea? I didn't even know you made videos. That is one sweet computer you've got there. Kay wants to know how much it costs. Cheers!!

  • haha, thanks... with student discount included, it cost about $1600, though that's also because I bought the higher-end model.

honestly, if I had the chance to go out and buy another one, I totally would, that's how highly I'd suggest it... thanks for watching!

  • I enjoyed the video. I'd like to get a Mac because they are reportedly the best computers when it comes to media editing software. Plus, OS X is Linux based, which is a plus because I really like Linux. YaaY!!

  • ya, between this and my iMac I don't think I'll be needing anything else computer-wise for several years... both machines are powerful/fully-featured enough that they should last me well beyond when I've graduated, in addition to the fact that Apple update their operating system/programs on a regular basis.

and for my purposes, OS X runs circles around Windows. especially since I can run Windows apps on top of OS X now (via Crossover)... :)

  • thank you for taking your time to do this

  • ey..does ur new macbook get pritty warm wen using it for awhile?...cuz mine does...it has no air vents :/....im a new mac user btw...jus bught teh new aluminum macbook 3 days ago

  • honestly, it does get slightly warm from time to time, but I've had no issues with heat so far... by the way, if you've got an aluminum MacBook, the air vent is actually located between the "MacBook" logo on the screen and the top of the keyboard.

  • ohh okai then its normal i guess..sorri that im new with these macbooks...never had an apple computer...thats y i was like..wth where the air vents?...buh yee no wonder if it gets warm its only warm in those areas...buh its quite nice because unlike most pc laptops like dell....the macbook harldy makes any noise...its an amazing laptop!

  • is it a macbook air?

  • no, it's just the standard aluminum MacBook... the latest revision took about 0.12" off the thickness of the original version, so it looks quite a bit like the MacBook air now.

  • no its not but to be honest its only a lil thicket then the air...feels alot liek ur using the air....expect the best benifit is that u have a superdrive dvd =)...(wish it was a bluray though)

  • honestly, after the way they dodged the question about the addition of BluRay after the keynote, I get the feeling they're still pretty opposed to it... sure, their computers have the hardware to decode/watch it, but they've also got plenty of HD content that you can buy/watch through the iTunes Store.

I'm sure for some people it'd still be nice to have the option available, but I actually don't take advantage of either (BluRay/iTunes HD content), so it's not a big deal for me...

  • dude althought you was going to class Lol..

  • well, I was rushing just because I usually try to leave at least 5-10min early for everything, and right after I finished recording this video it hit me that I didn't have class for another hour :)... still got to use it in class, though.

  • it looks like a great notebook! do you think that it is worth the price??

  • absolutely, yes... you are going to pay an "Apple tax" over what you'd pay for a different branded notebook with the same specs, but I'd say Apple make much better use of the hardware than most other manufacturers (this computer is definitely an example of that).

  • Awesome notebook :]

  • Congrats on the new MacBook

  • ǝuo ʇuɐʍ ı

  • sweet, so lucky you got one i want one so freakin bad, lolss i wish i had a macbook.. but whatever in like 3 more years my mom is going to buy me this macbook, unless something better comes out (which it probably will)

  • wow! your apple collection is coming together nicely, and as ever JEALOUS XD LOL

  • haha, for the moment, yes... be on the lookout for my "future tech plans" video for more on that.

    thanks for watching man!

  • I was waiting for them to turn into lttle MacBook Pro's. Never did much care for the "plastic" cases.

  • Thanks for the shout out. You'll love your new computer!

  • no problem Jon, and thanks again for the overviews... I've already used it for over 2hrs and am literally blown away by how solid this machine is. oh, and is it just me or does the keyboard on the new MacBook feel almost identical to the old MacBook Pro's?

  • Great job!

  • Yeah! :D

    Good man.. 5 *****!

  • Cool, Nice too

  • nice

  • cool
