even though my name is arodgerdodger..Favre not in 92, 93, 94, but more so 95 96 97 98 he would have embarrassed Rodgers with the weapons 12 has now. Rodgers can hang with anyone, but he sometimes has those duh plays when he is in the pocket. Favre got out of almost any situation in the pocket making him better and simply amazing. Any idiot that says otherwise is just a crybaby. And you know from what.
its no coincidence that 96' was the only season favre won a ring because he had the tutelage of mcmahon at back up to guide him through a championship season as mcmahon himself did with the great 85'bears 11 years prior. thats the only season favre had the luxury of having mcmahon around and as we all know its the only ring he ever won. favre had all the physical tools but it took the behind the scenes intangables of mcmahon to give favre that championship savvy. a savvy we would never see again
how come favre didnt win mvp of that superbowl? weird looking back at it, he played alot better in that superbowl than peyton manning did in his SB victory that he got MVP for
@gocelts34n7 , Exactly but in the 21 century the QB position is a Diva position. What Desmond Howard did was the same thing Tracy Porter did for his team in SB XLIV. His team was leading by 6 which was a 1 possession game. 27-21 and Desmond Howard helped the to put the game away. final score 35-21. In the past SB Saints were winning 24-17 and Tracy Porter made it a 2 possession game 31-17. But it was 2010 so the QB was named the MVP.
@gocelts34n7 Because that was still a time in the NFL when the rules did not skew towards the passing game and, therefore, make it so QB's get ALL the recognition. Any QB these days who throws for 2 TDs and runs for 1 in a Superbowl win gets the MVP without question. That's why these fools on here claiming Rodgers is better than Favre are simply delusional. Favre never had the compliment of receiving weaponry that Rodgers does. Favre in his prime was amazing!
Watching Brett Favre back in these days reminds me of why I love football so much. He is so fearless and willing to take risks to bring glory to his team. I would love to be in the huddle and look up and see Favre calling the plays. I would know I have a true leader!
Brett Favre during his prime, absolutely unstoppable, and was without a doubt a Pure Talent QB by far. I watched all of his years as a Packers player and even though I'm a Packers Fan at heart, I still watch him now.
His genius and his play cannot be ignored when you are a Football Fan, he is just absolutely unbelievable.
He would have broken Marino's record that year, however during one period, we had absolutely no receivers (Injury), and could barely score any pts. Favre #1.
though favre is a hated viking now in my eyes i can still enjoy these moments of his greatness on the packers even though i was too young to remember this great year
yo this old footage of brett favre from the live takes of these games is something that every young kid dreams about. they dream that they can go to the nfl and lead a team to the promise land.
The tears are welling up in my eyes. Whoa, our team was really good for a few years. Thanks for the memories Brett! We should have given Holmgren full control. Sad to see #4 as the purple villain. But I suspect TED and MIKE didn't show the love. Go Packers forever!
I couldn't agree more, i admit i have been a favre basher so far this season but after watching what he went through for our team it is hard to hate on him
@tmoench1116 Ha! My comment's bold in saying that I'd take Favre over any other QB from a stretch in which he won three consecutive MVPs, but your implication that Rodgers is the one guy that makes my comment bold is reasonable? Ha! Go back & WATCH Favre play from those years. There is NOTHING that Rodgers does better than Favre did in his prime, and Rodgers has the benefit of rule changes that HEAVILY favor the passing game and the best receiving weaponry in the NFL.Come on man.
I hope Favre plays for the Vikings and comes here to Lambeau and beats the shit out of Green Bay. I will always be a Packer fan but I can't forgive what Thompson did to a legend. Everyone has a right to change their mind! Go Favre!!!

How anyone in their right mind can watch actual footage of Favre in his prime and still say Rodgers is better is just mind-boggling to me.

Antonio Freeman wouldn't have been what he was if Sterling Sharpe didn't get that illness. He's still a great reciever, though.

This was his best season. He is keeps saying that 2009 was his best cause he wants to motivate his teammates in Minnesota. But you be the judge.
TD-INT 39-13 vs 33-7. Record 13-3 vs 12-4 and playoff record 3-0 vs 1-1.
