Do you no the bmv theirs three pipes going to it yeh? One off the acuator to valve then one goin to the throttle body?.. Any idear what the outher pipe is supose to be as mine have been blocked off?.. Also iv just removed the bmv so the pipe comes off the actuator to bleedvalve/boostcontroler then to the throttle body is that correct, andd iv just bought a deacent boost controler off ebay. @bikesmad get rid of the bleed valve and buy a decent ball and spring type boost controller then take the bmv off. with a manual boost controller you dont need the bmv, it would be pointless as the bmv will still modulate the boost pressure despite what the controller is set at.

@bikesmad if everything else is standard apart from your turbo you can run it at 12psi safley, anything above is a bit of a lottery with your engine. have you got a manual boost controller? if not i would get one and do away with your standard bmv to get the best from your turbo.

@bikesmad im running standard pistons at the moment at 14psi, but the i have had the head ported and running piper 270s through a big front mount. a k7 is a gearbox off a 220 coupe turbo, ideal ratios for a zr with a t16. a t28 is a good turbo with plenty of kick providing its off a pulsar not a 200sx and should see you run 280bhp nicley with the right mods to go with it. im running the t4 because i have done all i can without going fully forged which is coming soon.

@willsnailum converting the ti box is very easy, all the fixing points are already there so all you need is the parts of any pg1 cable box. the wiring wasnt hard just time consuming, it took me about 7 hours sat on a stool under the bonnet before i put the engine in. i found it easier to convert the cars loom rather than making an engine loom, all you need is a ti wiring diagram and a 160 diagram. loads of info on rovertech about the conversion, well worth the effort mate.
@willsnailum the box casings are all the same, its only the gear ratios inside and the clutch release type that changes (hydrolic or cable). all you need is the cable bracket and fulcrum arm of a cable box and put them on your gearbox. no need to get another gearbox.

@badtothebone73 i bought the car as a 1.1 rover 25 and did the conversion over the winter in my spare time. well worth the effort, make me smile every time i drive it.
@badtothebone73 the engine and gearbox came out of a 620 ti, the conversion itself is fairly straight forward apart from the wiring. i used 2 wiring diagrams, one for the 620ti engine loom and another for the rover 25 loom. i found it easier to alter the car loom to fit the ti engine loom rather than the other way round like others have done, well worth the effort though mate. have a look on rovertec, theres loads of info on there.
i mean these alone would make the car pretty beasty but i Xazzmanx prob got weight reduction n mayb a meaty turbo ;) video's real m8, wish my zr was that quick!!

well it's only slightly better but i have a 2007, APR tuned, S Line audi A3 2.0T FSI running 256 hp and 303lb-ft. of torque, 19'' RS4 wheels, full milltek exhaust, full leather, eibach coilovers, xenon lights, tints etc. do u actually believe your car is that great, i was just implying that, allthough your car is fast, its still poor quality rover parts/engine with weak headgasket + clutch. and in general MG's/Rovers get no love beyond the mcdonalds carpark crew. but remember its just my opinion
the amount of money spent on your car for so little power in my opinion is very poor which makes my car far better value for money with more power. i dont do mc donalds only totb and trax so there opinion doesnt rely matter to me, you never know we might might meet at a track day event so you can get the chance to prove your cars worth, but with only 250 bhp it doesnt look good. but remember its only my opinion.

I on my second MG ZR, first one was a ZR+105 and now I have a 1.8vvc 160+. Love the ZRs, I have the uprated head on it as well. Still lacks the power thou only got 135mph but still had more to go but the A130 is not a good rd for that speed

the engine and box was out of a 620ti that i got for 250 quid, defo worth rebuilding before putting it in and doing all the mods that you can afford. the jobs a fairly long prosses but worth it in the end, take your time and be patient. look at my other replies to see the mods i made before fitting, luckily im a mechanic so didnt have to pay anyone to do it other wise it would have cost me a fortune.
not had it on yet mate, im going upto roger clarks in a couple of months with my mates scooby so i was thinking of getting it done at the same time. i will post the results, should be interesting results as i had a little play with a mates 350 brake scooby the other day and past him on the straight.

its not standard mate, lightened and balanced bottom end including flywheel and clutch, decked blocked (only 2 thou), all new shells and rings, new oil pump, ported head, 270 piper cams, vernier pulleys, t28 turbo (pulsar), front mount intercooler, 3 inch straight through exhaust, closed cold air fed induction, iridium plugs, magnacor leads, uprated bearings for the gearbox and racing clutch. more to come as well when funds permit.

What really impresses me with this car is how quick he goes from 50-100mph without being thrashed. If only the T-series would fit in a TF, I'd be straight out to buy one!

@badtothebone73 the engine and gearbox came out of a 620 ti, the conversion itself is fairly straight forward apart from the wiring. i used 2 wiring diagrams, one for the 620ti engine loom and another for the rover 25 loom. i found it easier to alter the car loom to fit the ti engine loom rather than the other way round like others have done, well worth the effort though mate. have a look on rovertec, theres loads of info on there.

Anyway talking mutant car perhaps you should research the rover 200 which started life as a joint developed Honda converto, civic, rover 200 in the mid 80s. In fact your front and rear suspension, hubs brakes, steering components ect are joint honda, rover. So basically your in a brightly coloured Honda converto, nice

well it's only slightly better but i have a 2007, APR tuned, S Line audi A3 2.0T FSI running 256 hp and 303lb-ft. of torque, 19'' RS4 wheels, full milltek exhaust, full leather, eibach coilovers, xenon lights, tints etc. do u actually believe your car is that great, i was just implying that, allthough your car is fast, its still poor quality rover parts/engine with weak headgasket + clutch. and in general MG's/Rovers get no love beyond the mcdonalds carpark crew. but remember its just my opinion

the amount of money spent on your car for so little power in my opinion is very poor which makes my car far better value for money with more power. i dont do mc donalds only totb and trax so there opinion doesnt rely matter to me, you never know we might might meet at a track day event so you can get the chance to prove your cars worth, but with only 250 bhp it doesnt look good. but remember its only my opinion.

i suppose it depends what you want from a car really. looks like u have gone 4 all power,+ succeeded, whereas i use my car everyday, for work meeting customers, long journeys, picking up fit girls etc lol, audis get a lot of respect in most scenarios. + yes with only 256bhp, its not a world beater, but a great improvement from 200bhp standard + is great fun + can hold its own. maybe ur car would b slightly quicker than mine, but @ the finish line mine would get all the love. ud geta 65yr old man

I on my second MG ZR, first one was a ZR+105 and now I have a 1.8vvc 160+. Love the ZRs, I have the uprated head on it as well. Still lacks the power thou only got 135mph but still had more to go but the A130 is not a good rd for that speed

the engine and box was out of a 620ti that i got for 250 quid, defo worth rebuilding before putting it in and doing all the mods that you can afford. the jobs a fairly long prosses but worth it in the end, take your time and be patient. look at my other replies to see the mods i made before fitting, luckily im a mechanic so didnt have to pay anyone to do it other wise it would have cost me a fortune.

its not standard mate, lightened and balanced bottom end including flywheel and clutch, decked blocked (only 2 thou), all new shells and rings, new oil pump, ported head, 270 piper cams, vernier pulleys, t28 turbo (pulsar), front mount intercooler, 3 inch straight through exhaust, closed cold air fed induction, iridium plugs, magnacor leads, uprated bearings for the gearbox and racing clutch. more to come as well when funds permit.
