I was laid off the monday after new years. Not even a phone call saying "oh hey by the way, you dont have a job when you get back from vacation". Just John standing at the gate monday morning looking like an ass trying to scan into the facility with a badge that doesnt work any more. I work harder trying to find a job than I work when I actually have job. I cant even begin to count how many people I have sent my resume to..... I call Bullshit
there aren't any in the boise area. we actually specialize in sugar beets (one of the biggest factories in the country for sugar beets is in nampa ID which is like 30 minutes away from boise)
im fucking tied of this censorship of aljazeera, now the don't allow comment on some they video, fuck them im gonna unsubscribe,we not in Arabia Saudi here bunch of jerk
Everybody is struggling to find a job now. I've been unemployed for a year.
I'd be more sympathetic if times weren't so damn hard. But when I'm struggling to feed myself and keep the lights on, it's hard to feel sorry for a man who comes here from another country to compete with me for what few jobs there are.
One who understands economics, understands that population growth does not equal someone competing with you "for what few jobs there are."
If he were to find a job, he would be provided an income, which he would spend in various markets, which would increase demand in those markets, which would cause the industries supplying those goods to increase their labor force, thus creating a job for you, the original citizen.
Biggest misconception in America, that immigrants take jobs.
It's about resources, not "prividing income". We see 100s(That's Hundreds) of Hospitals around the southern USA either Closing, or Threatening to close their doors, because the flood of illegal aliens across our borders has drained the available resources. Remove the estimated 20 million illegals from the equation, and there isn't a need for any kind of reform. Standard of living is in direct proportion to the amount of people consuming resources. Maybe Dilli would have better luck in Bhutan.
Hospitals get compensate for their treatment of everyone, either by insurance, by those they treat, or by the government.
If you remove the 20 million illegals from the health care equation, I'm still not going to have insurance, and America will still be the most expensive health care nation per capita.
It's not logic I'm trying to express here, it's facts. You say the gov. pays for them...which I believe, and yet, those hospitals are closed or closing none the less. Why? If it's like you say, and you don't have insurance, who cares, you can just go to any hospital and the government will pay(as you said) so why are you bitching? You forgot to mention that all things considered, we also have the best healthcare system in the world in this country.
It is "one who agrees with your theories of economics".
I do not agree. That doesn't necessarily make me ignorant or uneducated.
I would politely point out to you that I was born here in San Diego. I have four decades of experience with the reality of a border city, border politics, border economics, the plight of undocumented Mexican migrants, and the "divide and conquer" mystification by which the ruling elites set workers against each other.
>Biggest misconception in America, that immigrants take jobs.
Then how do you explain the continued influx of foreign workers on H-1B visas for IT work when there are so many well-qualified IT workers looking for jobs now? Companies will save money wherever they can get away with it.
You neglect that we live in a globalized world. This is not 1960, this is not 1850. This is 2009.
IT companies already have plants in Israel, India, Korea, China and Mexico.
If that H-1 B visa worker wasn't brought to the US, Intel or HP would just have to build a factory overseas and close the one here. At least with the worker on US soil, he spends his some or all of his money on US soil.
@Eetaq You are SOOO right! Being an immigrant myself after graduating an Ivy League School I was told by many top firms (my perspective employers) that they don't want to sponsor H1B (to expensive) and they rather have me working for them in my home country!!! I would pay taxes in the other country and contribute to the economy of the other country - how does that help an American Citizen?

It's so hard to find a job. I am temporarily unemployed and it's so difficult and hard to live in America even though I was born here.

werd!
The H-1B visa program is bad news. I lost the best-paying job I have ever had in my life when I was replaced by an eastern european on an H-1B visa.
That's emphatically not how the H-1B visa program was supposed to work, but it's sure how it *does* work.
