I know I am guilty of living in the past (for me, the last year I think back to when everything was good was 1997.) There's nothing wrong with it at all; I think lots of people do. besides the bad news we have been pummelled with, there is also just a general dearth of things like original entertainment, new ideas in technology, or social ideas.

In a way I think that is how we "deal" with reality - by dropping a collective not-so-gentle hint to the powers that be that we think "now" sucks.
