I had always been opposed to all these crappy little metal(emo)core bands but holy hell the fact that people are even giving Trivium so much props for this terrible cover. If you want a good cover, look to bands like Sonata Arctica, not Trivium.

oh yeah, like being made in the 80's automatically makes it worse. Look, first of all without Iron Maiden, Metal would not be the same today. Bands like Maiden, Judas Priest and the other bands of the new wave of british heavy metal influenced metal in such a way that I doubt Trivium would be around without them. Secondly, Iron Maiden is such a HUGE band, they have a world wide following and Trivium, though a decent band, will never be as big as Maiden. All in all, Iron Maiden owns Trivium

Covers aren't meant to sound exactly like the originals, the covering band has got to leave a little bit of their signature style on it.
