  • Charles Nelson Reilly as Claymore Gregg always reminds me of Daffy Duck.

  • Having grown up in the 1970's, CNR was everywhere: one of the most popular comedians on tv. His role on Ghost and Mrs Muir was hilarious even though he appeared to be a tightwad with a hatred for Daniel Gregg. But the comic chemistry between Edward Mulhare and CNR is a hallmark in television comedy from that decade.

  • @pauldavisfan - Very well said!

  • On paper, Claymore is a pretty unlikable character but CNR's genius acting ability and comedic sense brought a depth to him that no one else could have brought to that character. Great video!! :)

  • That is so true about CNR. And thanks - glad you enjoyed it!

  • My good friend and co-writer upeasterner share a distaste for Claymore, but after this charming video, I may need to rethink that (well, a bit anyway). You have a true talent for matching unexpected music with your themes - can't wait for the next one!

  • Thank you! To be honest , when I first watched the series, I wasn't too thrilled with Claymore myself. I was more in love with the romance aspect. But now that I've been able to re-watch the shows I can appreciate the humor more and I can't help but like the character, flaws and all. (I do agree with ghostfan - they did need to tone his appearances down a bit in Season 2)

  • This is greatm Joanie! I just love it! Claymore got used too mucvh during GAMM's second season, but you putting all his best moments together was super. What was the music you used?

  • Thank you! The music was from the animated Tortoise and the Hare Silly Symphony from Walt Disney. I love how it slows down and then speeds up again.

  • Never thought I'd say this about a Claymore vid -- but ingenious! Once again, you've married old video w cool music for the perfect effect!

  • Thanks! You know I absolutely adore the whole love story between Carolyn and the Captain, but I can't help cracking up over Claymore's antics. Sometimes I think that Charles Nelson Reilly was a bit overshadowed in a way, and I just wanted to give him a bit of recognition here for doing such a great job.
