I saw an informal survey that said sax players fall prey to the vices of life quicker than other musicians. Must be a commonly observed thing, otherwise Deacon Blues wouldn't have been written.
PLISKEN12 - You really are a moron with obviously no education whatsoever; you probably have never even attempted to play a saxophone let alone study any in-depth pros & cons either medically or otherwise into the same; I however have been playing sax for almost 30 years without so much as a smidgen of ill health to which the sax vis-à-vis and playing of the same could be apportioned - "study the internet"? What sort of retaliation is that "believe nothing you hear & half what you see"
such beautiful music and so spectacular in concert...but, you pay such a premium for their ticket that i dubbed them, Steeling Hand. i suppose they're worth it when you compare them to the shit out there (like U2) with even higher prices.
Terrific vid! The sax part was originally handled by the late, great, Cornelius Bumpus who just died a few years ago. He's on the Steely Dan's "Two Against Nature" DVD.
I was at that show! Paid $10 bucks for a lawn seat! Went to go see them at the Durham Performing Arts Center in Durham which was the opening night of the Rent Party tour, those duckets were a little more expensise, $80, but that was five under face...unreal show..both shows
Steely Dan are so excellent that they make us greedy: if only Donald Fagen is a confident singer! He always believes he can't sing, but, as it turns out, his voice fits the Dan songs so perfectly that nobody thinks they need any other singer. He didn't do this song as well as in the studio, yet the chords are beautiful enough to make it up.
tempo gets slower and slower throughout!

Steely Dan deserves to get paid.

@gardenvarietypenis true, their ticket prices are steep. Could it be the big payroll?
