Watch Gwen & Chita in Hot Honey Rag. (starting 3:47) The movements are so loose, free and with such style! This is why they are considered the best of the past and present!
Now this is real dance, not all of doing a billion turns, leaps, flips, and kicks in a row like the crap at dance competitions nowadays. Rest in peace Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon <3
their last dance was just like josephine baker´s! u know it´s copying (baker) and getting copied again(beyonce)....that´s the way it goes.you can be inspired by other artist without commiting plagiarism
@xBonaFidesx do you have video of Josephine Baker?
Also, remember that Fosse was a choreographer in the '60s trying to give the feeling of 20's/'40's dance for "Chicago" -- some of the 20's moves will be the same
I am so stunned. I can not believe it, but here I sit watching... I am so amazed. I read the comment about them doing the cartwheel and I did not believe it... But these women look great, very well in shape and happy. Look at the bounce in their steps and the way they kick up their feet. So jovial and youthful. Wonderful. Thanks for sharing this.
WOW!! This is so refreshing. Given that the entertainment industry only celebrates you, it's so refreshing to see these two legends (most definitely not in their '20s @ the time) strut their stuff. If they were still alive they'd win a smackdown against Madonna, Brittany and Beyonce.
Look for a video on you tube with an interview with Beyonce. She saw a video with Gwen Verdon and liked the Bob Fosse style, so she chose it for her video. If I can find Beyonce's video for you on here I will with her explaining it.
God bless whomever posted this video. I have long been a fan of Gwen Verdon. I can't do a cartwheel at 22; I can't believe how agile she is at 50. Of course ... Gwen Verdon was pretty much a saint so she could do anything.
Long as I live, my greatest thrill was seeing these two great ladies (6 times) together doing this number together. Joyous. I get so welled up with this great memory.
Did you guys know that chita was in the movie too. When Mama is about to come into the room and sing that woman who says "She aint bad as long as you keep her happy"
yeaah! I noticed it and I was like "OMG! look at that! that's Chita Rivera!!!" And all my friends just looked at me like I was some kind of a dork! lol! Anyway awesome video =]

Not only two of the greatest musical comedy actresses but exemplars of the brilliant
Fosse choreography which never ages. Beyond beautiful.

I'm so jealous. I don't sound or look as good as they do, OR have their energy...And I'm definitely not their age.
