Glare isn't bad at all, at least not that I noticed. Usually, I'm able to move my tablet around a bit to reduce any glare I happen to have. But I didn't notice any excessive glare at all on the i440D.
You can use a USB keyboard, but it's not required at all. The TIP (Text Input Panel), which is part of Windows, can accept your handwriting or act like an on-screen keyboard, and it works just fine. It pops up whenever you need to "type" any text in an application.

How is it with glares? I have had problems in the past when using tablets in class.
