I am gonna dance around my room when my girlfriend is here to this song. I'll be naked and dance like a monkey lol.. oh no wait I won't because I don't have a girlfriend :(
You know, it's been about 16 years since this game came out... and now I actually understand Cranky Kong!
"Kids these days... need the computer to guide them through a level when they lose too many lives. Back in the day, we had to figure out the levels ourselves, and it worked!"
Of course, in DKCR that level guide was almost tempting sometimes... but I never used it, even if it meant losing 50 lives on one level (cursed rocket barrels O_O)!
I grew up with the SNES and then one day it burnt out...and I didn't really care for the newer systems..but then one day I got my snes back and went out and bought a ton of games...now Im hooked again...The SNES will always be my fav system
Darn kids... I tell ya, back in my day, we played on TWO dimensions! There was no analog-stick, motion sensitive, rumble feedback nonsense! There was no physics engine or bump-mapping eye candy, just pre-rendered graphics and pixels! And you know what, we still had more fun than you lot! You wouldn't know a good game if it bit you in the face! Games used to have value, now they just make a short single player mode and then put the rest of their work into multiplayer!
What's with all the First person shooters and war games? I can't believe young'uns enjoy that drek and why do the kids of today whine about graphics all the time? When I was young, GAMEPLAY was what mattered and graphics were a bonus. The old games were also much harder to complete and did we go an look up cheats? NO! We had to find out everything for ourselves. I could play SNES, N64, PS1 and Genesis for HOURS and Still have more fun than I ever would with an XBOX! Pah you kids are too soft
technically this was my first donkey kong game, but I played it with my cousins at a hotel, so I didn't own it. But it was in the late 90s, so that counts, right? :)
This music, as well as the theme from DKC1, smakes me smile. Because, in this generation, where games are (for the most part) no near as enjoyable as the used to be, I feel just like Cranky Kong! I AM Cranky Kong!
I like games of all generations more or less, but I'll agree with you there (I do like Halo however). 80s and 90s games probaby are mostly my favourite though.
Well, we may all have turned into crankys, but we have good reasons to do so. 90's were the golden age of video games, there's no denial. It's not about nostalgia, it's pure fact.
so much childhood memories ;']

One of these days, I'm gonna get myself a monkey and teach him to sing. All because of this song

Notice something: nobody dislikes Cranky's museum theme. Why?
Because cane beatings.
