My point is, your knocking rap as being un-original because it draws on past music and incorporates it. But thats the same thing jazz musicians did. They took Sousa marches ragtime, gospel the Blues and a lot of other stuff and fused it to make something completely new. (this song, in its time, a new twist on an old standard, is a perfect example of that). I'm not saying rap is better than or on par with Jazz or anything like that, but I am saying rapmusic is as original as the next genre..

Interesting that you say "original music" obviously this is jazz so the great Louis Armstrong is putting his own swing on it but he DID NOT write this song. In fact many innovative and "original" musicians have taken old standards and made them there own throughout history. And don't get me wrong, I have no problem with that, thats what music is all about, taking something established and putting your own spin on it. Thats what rap producers do all the time with sampling. Food for thought
